50chfs for a week is quite a nice deal. i may take off a day or two next week then. when you say 5 gondolas, do you mean st luc, zinal, grimentz? what else? are there good trails for each?
le bresilian is the only exception i'll make to the uphill. let's go!
tbd = to be determined

so who's in verb for the TdF? I'll definitely be there
-

2 things, Snow and TDF.
Snow to 2400m last night.
Wax 'em up.
TDF Verbier finish.
Will be somewhere along the route, just not sure where yet. Depends on how the race develops.
If Verb is going to be a deciding stage, then I figure to be on one of the turns below the village.
If Verb is not a deciding stage, then find me on the up side of Col des Mosses, grilling.Ski, Bike, Climb.
Resistence is futile.

my wife has friends coming to visit for the TdF but i'm planning on biking myself that day. if i end up going with them then i'll give you a ring.
where are you viewing from? what are the expectations for traffic and crowd? will it be easy to drive up to verbier or a clusterf*ck?
-

The road will be closed hours before the race arrives.
The caravan will be buzzing by in large numbers, during this time.
Traffic will be going in 1 direction only, the tour direction, and that traffic does NOT include the public.
Clusterflake is an understatement.Ski, Bike, Climb.
Resistence is futile.

Here's a side note:
The road from Le Sepey to Aigle is under construction to fix a few things.
We've 2 lights, and 1 lane traffic.
At the moment, it looks like a lot of work to complete in 1 week + 1 day.
Will it be finished in time for the TDF?Ski, Bike, Climb.
Resistence is futile.

I´m going to Verbier to watch the TDF. Would be fun to meet some of you if you are there. If so, where and when on sunday?

seems the arrival is at the centre sportif, a few meters from my apt. I'll walk down to a less crowded spot

v61: what is the best way to get to Verbier see TdF on Sunday? will it be possible? i told my friends to take the train to le chable but wondering if the buses up to Verbier will be running or if they are, overwhelmed by the mob. will it be possible for them to see it by foot from le chable? where does it start?

for what I've read, the best way looks train to chable, then lift, or car to tzoumatz, then lift to verbier via savoleyres.....

Ripz....get the train to Le Chable and walk up the road towards Verbier, find yourself a nice hairpin bend and grab your spot.
Ask everybody you meet: "Are you rungsp?" and maybe one of them will say "Yes, that's me"
Alternativly send me a PM and I'll give you my cell phone, call me on the morning and I'll check out the parking in my buildings visitor spaces and try to reserve you one if you are coming by car (I'm in Le Chable)

Dudes.
Do I still have to state that biking sucks and skiing trucks?
And no klar,nf of lyskamm was not ready to go yet. too icy. over the
weekend the temps might be higher to soften it up. but, maybe next year...
or the after that..
Snow is melting quickly up high. still a week or two of good skiing to be had ,well,if you go higher.
But I think I am going to head to verdon or liguria for some climbing and chilling in the sea now. maybe it is time to call the season a wrap.
This from today..tried castore but it is fucking boiling here, snowbriges are rotten etc...
The floggings will continue until morale improves.

Col des Mosses to Aigle road is closed Sunday 11h30 to 17h00 for TdF.
I imagine road from Martigny to up will be closed from about 12h30 til last rider.
Le Sepey will be a downhill zoom. Verbier might present some excitement.
But there are plenty of climbs left in the last week. The Tuesday following, and Ventoux...ouch.
As for the broken wrist, here is what I suggest:
