Pics were taken around narvik area. those two said pics were taken at Nonstinden, 40km north of narvik.
Cant say anything about when the spring will come, but, you will find shitload to ski there way untill july.
It is still snowing there this week! and the snowpack is thickest in the last 10-15 years that I have been there. hell, it is thicker now mid may than it has been in most years march!
It is still winter and the corn season havent even started...
If you are looking for the south norway (car from oslo) , situation is even better there.
The floggings will continue until morale improves.

looks like you've got some work to do for the summer!
°°
For my part, I very reluctantly moved two pairs of skis, guidebooks, my winter sleeping bag and a ton of half-dried clothes and climbing gear from the van into the living room, leaving just the trusty Mamba and the other kayaking gear that got me back on the river for the first time this year past Saturday.
(Then I tried riding my freeride bike, but the winter-long abstinence immediately struck back with a broken chain (fixed in the field), my lungs falling out, and the downhill track ruined by forest workers. And it's much too hot down here in the valley!)
So, at the end of this truly amazing winter, very likely my skiing will be on pause for a couple of months. Thanks to everyone here for bringing the stoke and motivation to let the full-time working life be lived by someone else and just hit the road to get to the mountains!!
I'll hopefully spend the next months reaping the fruits of this years's large snowpack in terms of melting water, and continue chasing the beloved low-pressure systems that have delivered the powderous joys of this winter, and which now continue to bring elation in the form of sets of waves breaking on our coasts and rain filling dry riverbeds. All hail the low pressure systems! And to those that are up for the summer season, enjoy the ride...
finally, two more from last week:

Igelskopf NE face
NOSIESTA GUIDING Custom guided skiing and climbing excursions in the Alps

Skiing isn’t over just yet

Igelskopf 2224m NE Face – Ehrwald, Austria
I spied this face the other day on a hike with the family. Actually, I spied loads of places to bring the skis on that walk but decided to start with the Igelskopf.
Things got underway with a quick drive to the Ehrwalder Alm (the gate at the bottom of the road was open) which made things much quicker and easier than coming from the bottom of the lift on foot
You good a good look at this face the entire way up as it is one of the first in sight and therefore an obvious choice.

The line up from the bottom follows a steep narrowing chute to a hidden ramp (the key to the climb). This brings you onto the face proper, which I followed to the ridge just below the summit. It was a prefect spring day with zero wind and blue skies. The crux of this descent were the snow pockets from the recent warm temps and the exit couloir which required some down climbing to reach the final chute.
A fun day with no one around

PS what happened to jumpturn?
As far as I can tell he went to Cham for his usual April trip, conditions didn't sound great and then haven't heard anything since.

Merde! Thats a nice line. Btw, any first hand info how things are holding up in the swizz alps? Apparently still pounding up there, at least monte rosa area
got new snow few days ago?
Carveman, yeah, thinking the same. Jumpturn has vanished from the radar, he sure provided some good cham stokage. Hopefully he didnt get fed up with the tgr or anything worse.Last edited by Meathelmet; 05-15-2012 at 09:43 AM.

According to SLF its supposed to be snowing over 700 meters tonight. Northerly faces still appear to be holding quite a bit of snow, south faces are getting more bare as the days go by... But by the looks of the forecast over the next week, I'd guess things might fill in a bit again. It was pounding rain on the way back from Zürich through Glaurus, so I would assume there will definitely be some accumulation up there.... Wish Engelberg wasn't so far away....
