yep, that's why it would be interesting to hear how much the snow has been affected in the more north facing aspects. I never skied rama up to now due to the logistics involved, but it really does look narrow. even though the gopro distorts the perspective, at some parts I was rather amazed to see the protagonist actually do turns.

Its been really warm the last days but still snow on the southface.. Later on this day torned my left kne ligaments on the traverse down to St Christoph. According to my doc it takes 6-12 weeks. Fking great I have a north american tour booked from 22 mar-8 april inlcuding Mt Baker, Revelstoke and Alaska. Right now im feeling suicidal..

Anyone with some reco´s what you can do to get fit faster after torned/half torned inner knee ligaments and what the cons can be if you ski on it with out being 100%? I will get some kind of plastic "fix your knee construction" to keep it stable.

i was there last week, and then again this weekend. the snow on the north faces was ok on saturday. you can still ski all the way to the road, some friends skied la voute and chiroze left on saturday and said they were really good, as was freaux. but on sunday the freezing level dropped, and the snow got very hard and polised, and anything that had melted refroze.

it needs snow for sure.

I skied the Rama in March last year, had one section that we had to sideslip near the bottom, no more than about 30m vert:

Most definitely couldn't ski to the road back then though.

get some physio lined up. make sure you get your range of movement back and get a brace. you might well be ok. for reference i quite badly fucked my MCL a few years back and was skiing again (carefully) within a week

not long or steep but for sure deep

I did a speed skiing run there in the background where the sluff debris is once.

thanks for the update vertigo. i overheard some metereologists talking about a change of weather for sunday (cold and occassional snowfall) so things may work out and next week could be great!
probably will be more in the clusaz/chamonix region but maybe if the weather is good we'll head over to LG for a day or two.

it is only 700euro and if u compare a plasticligament fix in a privatesportsclinic costs 7700euro

i was there with a f-ankle years ago and after two weeks ready to deal with it.
but u have to be quick he needs the ligaments as freshly torn as possible so he can but them back into position and start the healing process....

and i tell u it will be the really painfull what he does!!! u get a mouthspatula between your teeth so u cant scream.

My first time in this region of the alps - nice part of the world, and probably the most snow I have seen in my life.
This was Stuben / Austria (1400m) at the start of last week.
A 60 year old resident in the bar reckoned the most snow since 1999 ?

I'm getting into Cham on March 3 for 2 weeks at UCPA in Argentiere, so stoked!!! The first week is ski touring to get my feet back under me. The second week was supposed to be touring to steeps, but it got cancelled so now I'm down to straight off-piste, so.......

If any mag's would be willing to show me around anytime from Mar 10-17, I would be eternally grateful and looking forward to buying you some rounds! Haven't done glacier travel before so that is kinda out.

I will be in St Anton from 3 till 7 March. Anyone around? I am coming with my better half and a group of friends, most of whom are beginners, so I am looking for company to share some turns offpiste.

Hey I will be arriving in St Anton on the 3rd and skiing from the 4-11. Depending on conditions I am thinking of doing a day or two with pistetopowder.com but with the current conditions I don't think it will be worth it.
