So, me and a buddy rode a beautiful NW face of Dent de Lys (in the Vaud preealps) before work today. Nice steep chute into a long continuous no traverse required face. Nice settled pow the whole way. Unfortunately my gopro on a ski pole cut out right after the chute (piece of crap keeps doing this). Also managed to somehow delete all of the few pictures I got. Grrrr.

Also a bunch of amazing powder, both daylight and headlight riding in Col de Mosses with pillows this past week. Too bad the warm came today... Still, it has been a great week of touring in spots I wouldn't have otherwise gone to if there was snow down south in Verb and Cham areas.

I'll be in Chamonix from march 1-15. I'm signed up with Compagnie des guides de Chamonix for the 4 day glaciers du Mont blanc tour leaving march 8, but I'm the only one signed up so far. It's a beginner level trip as I'm a touring newb. If anyone is interested, I'd love to have some maggot company.

Otherwise, if anyone wants to share a guide or get some beers while I'm in town, let me know.

yeah i just came back from ticino bouldering. but my Monday and Tuesday were cool. (as you can see in the video in my TR )
concerning the forecast: major selfreplicating "high central europe" so no pow, warm and dry for 2 weeks at least. --> i have become really weak on the blocks. ticino here i come.

Winter, where you at? It was like mid-may today here in northern Italy. How's the situation elsewhere?

Went touring today at Le Contamine.

Was stifillingly hot at 2700m. Below 2400m it felt like suctions cups all over my base.

On the tour up I had 2kg of snow stuck to each of my skins.

Let's hope so. It's +20° here. Like 10-12° more than the average end-of-feb max temperature. It's courious (and sad for us) how it's been the coldest winter in 50 year and probably the hottest 15 days later. It went from -15 during the day to +20°.

so its snowing in the east.... About 10cm so far at 800m. But its wet as fuck. So its all about the sloppy joes tomorrow. I am not going to be getting after seeing as a nasty as bug has been ripping through the ranks.

Hope everyone gets after this last little bit of fresh cause its not getting better till probs the 8th of march. I have always been a fan that a full moon always brings good news with it.

One dude was helied off the mountain with back pain, but the report from the hospital is that he was up walking again the same evening.

Once at Snowbird Utah they took forever to open the backbowl Mineral Basin and everyone expected it to open by 10:30am. By the time they did (noon) 500 people had lined up all across the ridge and the rope across the entire bowl was dropped all at once. 500 powder hungry skiiers raced down 500m of vertical in just 2 min, just so they would not have to stand in the massive line. It was insane, I thought someone was sure to get run over and I've never seen a run get tracked out faster.

stay away with all those bouldering in ticino updates... driving to la clusaz and the chamonix region on friday and still hoping for some good snow
if anyone is out around there, have the couloirs in chamonix transformed to spring conditions? and anyone done the cosmique etc lately and able to report on conditions?

as for the east, after a very springlike day on saturday we did receive powder yesterday but the weather was ... ugly to say the least. today and tomorrow may be good though for anyone not stuck at the office.

The sequence at 2:20 clearly showed what a GoPro is meant for - priceless!

Hope the dude is ok though
