I left the theater feeling like I'd committed some sort of crime and was somewhat confused. Powerful film making.

I wasn't crazy about it. It made me sort of mad, in sort of an M. Night Shyamalan sort of way. That said, the scene with Natalie Portman in her bed, and the big-time NP/MK scene made me less mad.

I just saw it yesterday. Enjoyed it, found it intense, but it's basically Fight Club with Chicks.

We peons in the third world just got this movie. HOLY FUCK, I left shaking. Best scored movie since starwars for me. Sort of what I expected in the sense of the story line. But I was blown away buy the execution. I kind of want to see it again but don't know if it would be as good. Very glad I saw it in the theater instead of on my computer.

All right now, admit it...you guys liked it because Natalie Portman lezzed out, or at least I think she did.
The whole Mother/Daughter thing creeped me out. Reminded me of "Carrie" except Portman's character didn't have telekinetic powers. Definitely the worst of the "best picture" nominees that I've seen, but I still need to see "The Fighter" and "127 hours". I hope they don't suck like this did.Decent people shouldn't live here...they'd be happier somewhere else.

@Garth: spot on with the Carrie comparison, as I thought the exact same thing.
I totally dug 127 Hours.
As for the Oscars/Best Picture? Now that they have 10 nominations it's kind of a joke (although the AA's have kind of been a joke for the past several years anyway). Personally, The Kids Are Alright is the weakest of the ones I've seen (didn't see The King's Speech, TS3, or The Fighter)."Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."

Gotta agree - the kids are (not) alright was too bad to even be the 10th nom; liked the social network, but the King's Speech was excellent - simple story but the brilliance was in the quality and detail

Finally got around to seeing this last night. That was messed up. It was not what I expected. I never saw a movie that spent most of the frames as tight close ups.

Amazing movie. Getting a boner and a mind fuck at the same time? Wow. How often does that happen?
