I am currently working on a project to allow swapping of a new Atomic Tracker/Salomon Guardian between several pairs of skis. I happy to help out with measurements for paper templates and screw lengths, having been assisted by jondrums templates during my long period of lurking on these forums.

Jondrums, do you know when more of your inserts will be available to help with this project?

Sorry about the inserts - "end of the month" turned into the end of August. I do have a tracking number, which is a lot more than I had a month ago.

I think I like how Jon has been avoiding all of the plate questions recently

Something up his sleeve for new releases

Lets face it 99% of us wont be skiing for another 2 months. We have some time.

Jongdrums, I tried emailing, but do the Sollyfits and Dynadukes have the same mounting pattern? i.e. If I mount with inserts, can I swap them back and forth?

I think they are different. The template thread should confirm this as i believe they have different files.

Depends on BSL, you can make it work. The DynaDukes are a fixed distance apart due to the base plate small or large, the Sollyfits you set based on bsl so they are not the same for every mount. I went from large dynadukes to sollyfits with a 318 bsl just fine.

Sweet. Getting new boots this year, but I should probably land around 320.

The mounting patterns match up well for 320bsl and large dukes, but are not identical.

I'm planning on doing this same thing with a brand new set of DPS wailer 112rp's and I'm looking for some advice. Bindings- marker barons/ dynafit tlt radical ft. Ski length- 184, BSL for baron/boot combo- 328, BSL for dynafit/boot- 310. I have printed out templates from binding freedom and I'm having trouble choosing mounting locations that will work. The safest one that I have found spaces the boot centers 3cm from each other. I'm not really sure if I want this. I have already ordered inserts and would like to avoid using dynaduke plates. Any suggestions? Mounting pros out there, speak up!

    Hi!
What screws to buy for dynafit radical speed?
And when will you have a screwset for Guardian/Tracker?

Here's the screw specs I use for those bindings with QK inserts:

    Radical Speed (without stiffening plate):
    8no. 8mm csk flat heads
    8no. 10mm pan heads shortened to 9mm

    Guardian/Tracker:
12no. 12mm csk flat heads shortened to 11mm
    8no. 10mm csk flat heads

Bumping this thread because, as has been pointed out, it's totally awesome and contains a wealth of information that only a place like TGR could aggregate. (You guys rock).

Question- I'm going to swiss cheese a few skis for dynafit/tele, and I've been wondering about snow buildup/accumulation/melt, rust, and/or mount point weakening in the unused inserts. Anyone have any problems with this, now that some of these setups have been around for the better part of a season? Anyone plug the unused holes?

Inserts have been around for years - snowboards and skis (tele/dynafit) I had K2 tele with inserts, never plugged the unused holes. Once sealed properly against the ski I wouldn't worry about it. If you're gonna do swaps during the day it could be useful to plug to prevent ice.

You could probably find some nylon grub screws to use in the unused holes. I know to gnar sells them for snowboards, but I don't know if they would be the right size for ski bindings. McMaster maybe?

Snowboards use M6 but BF and QK are both M5 so you'll need something different.
