And where are all of these long traverses that you are talking about? Top of tram to Marx takes 3-4 minutes tops, Gullies about 30 seconds, Yeti is easy as hell, Headwaters are a hike, etc. Obviously you've never been to Alta if you think BS has bad traverses

John it must suck hard to be such a lame assed negative pussy.
You don't ski here hence you just don't get it.
Hate away.
We have a nice little scene and those who log 100+ days could give a rats ass about "making it" in SLC.
I left Utah for a reason, douche bags like you.
This seemed to work well in another thread. Go fuck your mother.
Friendship request sent.john c has not made any friends yet

as long as we're tearing holes in this splendid commentary-
Beehive basin(big sky) isn't too stable right just now, I couldn't recommend touring up there. unless your touring set-up is your area rig, its not worth bringing it out for this immediate area, at the moment.

It's pretty funny if you look at some of John C's previous post they are all pretty much bitching about how everywhere sucks. What a miserable dude. As far as I can tell he must only ski first descents on the moon cause everything else is so played out.
John I'm trying to make the B Team in Salt Lake, any pointers? I've already got a really brightly colored jacket, and a 142 skate banana. What's next?

Sheesh guys, I was just being sarcastic. can't we all just be freinds. If we were all freinds then the next step would be to be bro's. At which point we could fist bump each other in the hour long tram line and check out each other's fat sticks. Maybe then one thing could lead to another and late one night at Milkey's we could have a moment. I know this is the only way anyone gets laid there, ya know, bro on bro style, I'm just tryin to get into the game?
And I defintaly ain't from Utah. Bunion, one question. What exactly is the scene there? A bunch of people getting dressed up every day to try and sell real estate that no one is interested in?
As for beehive unstable. The Madison Range has the worst and most dangerous snowpack this side of Colorado and is never stable till it melt freezes multiple times. so June.
The south faces have one turn that is 40 degrees. Otherwise known as the sweet spot where the thing rips out 4 feet deep every other week.
STOKE: Jack Creek!!..once every ten years. oh yeah, bringin the stoke

Some people think that they rule their own toilet, but the truth is that he prolly punched out a communications degree and has nothing to do with it so he decides to use forums sich as this one to vent because all of his friends are sick of hearing what he has to say and don't return his phone calls anymore.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the tram, saddle or other slackcountry in the area, but on a good day you can't hear the negative comments over all the hoots and high fives in the lift lines at the bottom.
All in all, the entire area kicks major ass, no matter who you are or how local you are.

No...you're just being the same unhappy little troll that you were last year. Get laid or something. Move out of your mom's spare room in the trailer park. She doesn't like you either.
You trying to win the "Douche of the Year Award" from DasCunt? Man...there's some stiff competition this year.Gravity. It's the law.

Finally, john c catching some shiite for being a nancy.
The rants over the Saddle slide last year were enough to seal the deal... this is bonus drama.
How about some Gallatin/Madison range stokage:

And to think I can't flipping wait to get to the area to stay for a couple months of skiing the Ridge and the Headwaters! What was I thinking? But anything beats Indiana I guess.

Man, after reading through this thread again I’m pretty disappointed at the general response to nest’s polite inquiry.
Tickets:
http://www.moonlightbasin.com/site/ticket_deals.html
http://www.bigskyresort.com/Activiti....asp#Multi-Day
http://discountpackages.bridgerbowl.com/
Some easy day-touring zones:
-Check Tye’s [ame="http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207163"]link[/ame] for info/photos on the Beehive area. Combined with Middle and Bear basins, there’s quite a bit of easy-access skiing in the vicinity with bigger peaks further back if you start early.
-The Hyalite region has an incredible amount of skiing with 2-3hrs approach almost guaranteed
-Both N and S from the Bridger ridge there are a lot of complex zones with very good skiing and varying levels of exposure. Check out the BB thread for tons of photos/reports
Lots lots more if you’re willing to look further into it. Hope that helps a little, nest.
And to john c:
pretty vague caption on the photo above. Does it really give anything away?
You must know me somehow so I’ll try to be polite. I somewhat agree with a select few of your points, and there are a couple valid ones, but every one of your posts is so full of bitching or over-the-top sarcasm that everyone here has completely blown you off as a negative butt hole. Why keep digging? Why not start your own thread to rant about everything you hate, so nobody else has to hear it?
How about some more cool photos and less stupid arguing. Maybe we can turn this thread into one as entertaining and informative as the BB thread, except with regards to the greater Bozone:

Good point telopasour. The Madison's are not a mountain range for winter riding unless you are highly skilled with local knowledge. There are windows here and there maybe. as there was early this season. That came to an end with that 3 day cold spell. Surface hoar formed then got buried and has been firing off ever since. Strandard for a low snowpack continental range. As well, since this range is east of the divide it has a very thin base. This results in the base rotting out over time as it has this year. A solid early season base has slowly weakened and deep slab instability has once again reared it's head. Too make this worse, the Madison's are one of the windier ranges, the winds scour the ridgelins and make for weak spots off the top. Dig all the pits you want, there will be sugar on the high elevation windswept rock bands. A perfect example of a weak spot formed by rock was that SE slide off Saddle. It went surprisingly deep cuz what was assumed to be a safe base had rotted due to the TG formed by the rock. Advice for out of towners: if you are on or exposed to anything steeper then 30 degrees then you are probably in the wrong spot unless you are a profesional.

Sweet:

BOOST THAT SHIT!
Good work Norse, glad your stoked.
Fair enough John C., I wouldn't let my guard down in the Spanish Peaks midwinter. I often joke it's like going to Colorado down there most of the time. O.P. will probably be more than entertained by basic Headwaters laps and finding his way around the Ridge and Slushmans."The skis just popped me up out of the snow and I went screaming down the hill on a high better than any heroin junkie." I lived in MT for a long time, I live in CO now....MT is Tahoe compared to skiing the bc down here. Keep it mellow, ski some pow, and get gnarly in the spring.
