I had a set of work stinx so yes. And scottybobs- did he market those as tele specific skis? Can’t remember.

Yup. Short edge was outside edge, and they were 100% tele specific.

Piste pipes were killer, and the rivets made me feel so much tougher than I am.

G3 made the Ticket and Rapid Transit with asymmetric sidecut for a L/R specific ski as well.

Edit to add photo of my RTs in their natural habitat of the Peru Peak Wilderness.

I've skied extensively on both the Ticket and Rapid Transit with tele mounts -- the RT was one of my favorite skis at one time. G3 also made the asymmetric Mass Transit ski, which was a bit wider than the RT.

I know of a lot of people who skied the Rapid Transit with AT bindings and really liked them. So the asymmetric sidecut wasn't just for tele, at least for some skis -- I certainly never saw anyone with ScottyBobs with AT bindings.

Back to K2 tele, I still have a pair of AntiPistes with inserts, mounted with Switchbacks.

    Back in my day….

When I worked at the ski shop, a rep talked to us about pre-installed inserts, and our techs and i poo-poo’ed the idea. At that time, one of our techs (famous tele binding (and other gear) designer) was generally mounting bindings forward of cord center (basically at boot center line). I believe those k2 skis were designed to be mounted with pin line at cord center.

Many of the k2 tele specific skis were the lower price point k2 alpine skis. There were some exceptions. At an OR ski demo at PC, I grabbed some piste pipes and skied for hours on them (the reps was not happy) with a friend that patrolled at PC (kinda a famous guy now, career was launched from being on patrol). It was a powder day and he took me to an untracked area. It was fun to ski some powder. I definitely enjoyed those skis.

If I’m remembering correctly, the standout skis at that demo to me were the biggest evolution planks (anybody remember evolutions!?), the tua crossride 110, and the Lincoln bindings. Lincoln was not officially supposed to be there, but they were allowing some testers/buyers to try out. I also met Leslie Anthony during that demo (wasn’t too impressed, unfortunately). Also was finally able to try the t-race, which was super fun, but painful for me feet.

My favorite G3 ski from that era was the non-asymmetric Reverend, really liked that ski.

    Telemark skiing is dead.

The K2 inserts sure made swapping bindings easy. In 2009 I did a side by side test between the then relatively new Rotte Freeride and the NT Bulldog with one installed on each ski.

Pitbulls on Resolutions...what a way to ski where you are constantly waiting for the bindings to free themselves from the skis

Haha yep good eye. Didn’t realize it when I slapped them up there till I stepped back to admire my handiwork. Figure they looked ok and only a fellow telewacker would notice!

The Reverend was a great stout ski. Great with alpine bindings too.

I picked up a set of linkens maybe from one of y’all and promptly blew out that toe box and decided I needed to stick w the hammerheads.

I do find myself wondering what the telebulldog might ski like today as compared to the NTN.

    yeah like these https://www.backcountry.com/22-desig...rk-ski-binding

i had a set of these on a pair of skinny Voile boards and skied them with synerG. i don't have particularly fond memories of their turning ability. I've got some old fish scale vector BC prototypes that they'd look great on right about now.

I like a pair of those. I think that the Rottefella NTNs is the closest feeling to pins but with great torsional rigidity

The Reverend was a great ski back then. The Rapid Transit came out not long after the Reverend, and with very similar dimensions -- it was basically a Reverend with asymmetric sidecut.

I never got to try their skis, but I wished I had.

If I remember correctly, Paul Parker was a direct link between the tua skis and the first g3 skis. He was on the design team for both.

^ Yes. Paul Parker was with G3 during their rise in the telemark scene.

    Telemark skiing is dead.

I want to join the gang again. I quit tele a few times this century, primarily a result of injury. I migrated here when Ttips succumbed. Deleted my gear several times. Looking for 75mm bindings. If someone has some 22 design or R8/cobra or six screw BD01 or Hardwires I’m interested. Can’t recall whether 26.0 fits small on the bindings that have 2 sizes. Thanks
