    Knee scope/debridement recovery time?

Crunched something in my right knee in early December. Lachman and manipulation tests negative for torn ACL. MRI couldn't confirm due to artifact(s) from metal dust/fragments from hammy graft surgery back in 09. MRI negative for any major meniscus damage.

Doc isn't certain but thinks the pain, slight swelling and catching/clicking that started after this recent tweak is due to scar tissue in the space between the femoral condyles. He gave me the option to see how it goes and put off a scoping/debridement until the end of the season so long as the discomfort isn't debilitating. We'll its not debilitating but its becoming clear that my skiing is going to continue to be limited by whatever is going on in there. The discomfort is greatest when the knee is bent in exactly the position you need to be to finish out a hard carving turn.

Anyone else had something similar? Will i really need to stay off my skis for 3-4 weeks if i get the surgery done now?
