Tuning ?
I just recently started to tune my own skis, and I found a wealth of information on this board (search funtion rulz). However, I was unable to find an explanation of how far to de-tune the tips and tails. Is this a personal preference or is there a standard. Any recomendations?
Put on your seat belt, I saw this in a cartoon once.

personal preference really. I got roughly an inch back or so. Others like less or more. Just detune a little bit, see if it feels too grabby, if it does, detune more.

I detune all my shaped skis except my race boards. I can't stand having fat skis with sharp edges except underfoot. I wanna be able to work the ski, not the other way around.

I stick with the traditional E-A-D-G setup, although I do cross tune everyonce in a while.

what the fuck are you talking about? 1st: hed get a lot more info from the search. and 2nd: BTW you can detune shaped skis. like glademaster, the only boards i never detuned were my race boards back when i used to race. basically it comes down to personal preference.
