    iphone helmet mount

Not wanting to drop $$ on yet another gizmo, I screwed around in the shop last nite and rigged this up on an older helmet. Plan to test it out wednesday. Wednesday is steel headed gaper day at a local hill. I should fit in quite nicely.

that is the greatest thing ever. does that thing charge as well. I wish we would just hurry up and implant all this shit straight to our brains, then we can just get a app that will download what we see. then we do not have to look stupid, really I dont even see how this could go poorly.
    believe me its real.

I bet the footage will turn out pretty well, especially if it's HD from the iPhone4. [assuming it stays in] Way cheaper than buying a new camera.

My heartburn is with the moisture tho, as most phones don't do well with it. In fact, i started putting my iPhone in a snack size ziplock, and found i can still text/email through the plastic!
The blues has always been about taking your problems and turning them into something you can dance to, drink to and fuck to.
We're certainly not a blues band in any kind of purest sense, but to me Rock and Roll has always had it's roots in that tradition.

Velcro, a strap and a full gel case for moisture protection. I'll post up the video results.

Vibration only mode. Also doubles up for itunes/skull candy.

Phone was free, insurance paid for it. Expensive is relative, sucking is relative. Keep jamming yer head up yer ass, daylite isn't far off.

the footage wont be very good. The iphone may be hd but it doesnt have a wide angle lens. Look at any of the helmet cams like contours or go pros and theyre all wide angle, with the standard lens the footage will be very shaky doing things like skiing.

I was bored, baked, and it cost me nothing to give it a shot. Totally agree, vibration will prolly suck...almost as bad as my skiing.

I'd go with a strip of bright colored duct tape as a chest mount instead.

    I call that Plan B.

Plan C is wedging it in by butt crack and skiing backwards. Turned 90 degrees from the hips down. Gotta remember to keep my knees bent.

Nice idea, however, even with the case and everything I would be worried about water damage, as that is likely not covered by any sort of insurance on it.

    Looks like a douchebag magnet/antenna.

I can only hope there is an electrical storm, you get struck by lightning, incinerated, and some other douche catch's it all on their iphone helmet mount.
Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.

90 degree angled brace piece is flat and padded inside the helmet.

Limited success, but still a fail

I did a test run on Wednesday. As mentioned by the critics, shaking is apparent, lack of wide angle blows, video easily shuts off if the screen touches anything...yada yada yada. Further improvements or development is on hold.

    here's the vid:
