    TR: December Session

La Nina is delivering the goods for snow this year. Spent two days earlier this week skiing couloirs and freezing deep in the Absarokas for Discovery Channel. I topped the perfect week off today with drifting with friends in December. We landed everything from Browns, Snake River Cuts, and Bows. The icing on the cake was being the only boat on the water.

    Something about December:

    Cool frost crystals:

Dean gettin' ready to get his game on:

    Nick's nice Rainbow:

Beautiful colors on the river today:

    Dean stoked in December:

Only Brown of the day and not rustled from the redds:

    Scenic cows:

    Nick and a nice Bow:

Nick and Dean getting their wade on:

A beaut of a Snake River Cutty:

It was an amazing week to say the least. We are very fortunate to be living the dream! Fly fishing and skiing in the same week...ummmmmhmmmmm!

Damn! I want to fish! A little frozen over here.

What is the Discovery channel deal? Name of program?

Edit: You'll find there are a plethora of fucking morons at the Drake. That place is much better to troll these days...too much "I'm cooler than you" has moved in.

Thanks Schwerty-the guys over at the Drake forum hate the trip report! LOL. First time post over there.

Cannot say too much about Discovery other than it is one of the "survival shows" (signed a non-disclosure form). Live the Dream and I were the re-creation skiers for the shoot. Very interesting and cold to say the least.

    Cool!

They don't hate the TR. Some of the guys that posted are full of themselves. Oddly enough you will likely find the same names praising TR's with average pics of non native dinks. The whole "newb" thing over there has really discouraged many people from posting, new and old. Nothing wrong with a little heckling but when someone wants to share good stoke. As I said, good trolling most of the time and every so often youll be able to wade through some of the egos and find some really inspiring shit. There are some good folks there...

Just checked it. OUCH. Most of those guys will shit on you for fishing, and shit on you for not fishing. If I ever catch shit from one of these guys on the water I will kick him straight in the nuts, though I doubt any of them would be man enough to come out from behind their usernames. Also, I find it intriguing that such a meh, mediocre magazine has spawned such a tight knit crew of butt hurt assholes. Just for the record, I know some of you TGR guys here post over there, you are not among them.

Wy Split Ride, you bring high quality stoke every time. Keep it coming. I'd shake your hand at Scrubfest this winter if it wasn't 20 hours to WY.

    This is excellent.

The Drake, for fratboys who fish and really, really need that fact validated as a lifestyle. Personally, I've been fishing my entire life but still love to experiment and learn new things. I can't remember ever seeing a single useful idea on that site. The Drake seems mostly populated by guys who already know it all so now they have nothing better to do than congratulate each other and shit on everybody else. TGR anglers, in my opinion, catch loads of fish each season because they usually live in or near primo areas with multiple options to go catch wild fish without seeing other people. On the other hand, many Drakians act like they have something to prove.

WYSplit, you are wasting your time trying to explain the nuance of first tracks to a handful of egomaniacs and their clique of me-too joiners and desk bound flatlander suckups. Ancient wisdom say it is pointless to get oneself into dickwaving contest at never ending circle jerk. You lost them at "couloir". Oh yeah, nice fish. The best revenge is living well; Just keep dropping the quality TRs on them without any text and they will just have to confront their own lameness.

    What a week, WYSplit!?

Fresh couloirs and untracked fish in December... can't complain about that.

    Let's get out again soon.

My guess is hovering around 42-45 on the BH and maybe 48ish closer to Boysen. Just a guess, haven't looked it up.
