Good call Spook.
I don't think it will get better. A record number of passes were sold this year. Not surprising with the cost of a lift ticket.
Remember the days before the super cheap pass? Some good weekday powder fests then with no lift lines. I think that might be done for good.
Today was a good day. It seemed like fewer people, but it could just be opening up Cascade and Upper Heather spread people out enough that there were no lines. Quite different than yesterday.
I've had good luck with the Demo day but I focus on the Spring one with the new gear for next season.

Flying into PDX in Feb, planning on shredding the Hood.. can't wait. Never been there, will definitely be watching this thread to help plan the attack.

Meadows was good today, considering the lack of new snow. Upper Heather was firm, but fun...until 11:00 when it was shredded. Clark's was closed, but everything else from A-zone down was open - not bad for mid-December. The bottom part of the canyon involves narrow chutes of giant bumps and bushwacking - needs more snow to get things filled in.
I didn't go into PR - any report?

Are those 205's?
Sweet trip, santa is dropping of my dynafits soon, looking for touring partners. I'm green, never been, doing avy 1 in Jan. Moved from Chicago last year mid season so just stayed in bounds.
Spook, like the thread, nice work.
I only have a pic of the sled and my dog so far...last dump before the rain.

Meadows delivered today. That was a mighty deep 3 inches. East facing slopes definitely seemed to be the ticket. I was finding sweet spots in the mail bowl way after I figured they would be skied out.
Saw a whole ton of people on ON3P today.Training for Alpental

I see I'm late to the party.
Great idea for a thread. Benk, thanks for the great photos -- you're giving me ideas. I'm a splitboard jong -- first season -- sticking mainly to low-angle stuff while I try to work out which is my ass and which is my elbow. Here's one more from White River Canyon, taken two weekends ago.
