Yes, definitely a great ski, been skiing these for the last week. They ski a lot like last years, but the shorter rocker gives them a slightly quicker engagement into the turn. I think it's still roughly the same height rocker, just about half as long.

I like the added width also. All in all another sick ski as usual from Moment.

I'll start by saying the narrower Garbones are my current favorite, every day, no new snow ski.

I put a day on the newer wider ones to compare and see if I wanted to upgrade to them. For me, they were too much. I felt like I couldn't bend them. They really required you to pay attention and stay on top of them. They seem like a true pro model ski, at least compared to the narrower 105 waisted Garbones.

edit: I've only tried the 192s.

For me, the skis weren't poppy enough to justify the stiffness. They feel dead and fail to rebound you out of your turn. I find all moment skis to lack pop. When the ski is that stiff and it doesn't rebound out of turns, it's just not fun. The rc112 is a much better ski.

Anyone have anything more to say about these? I'm particularly interested in info about the 182s.

Are they stiffer than the Belafonte?

    Here's a small, quick review:

    Me: 6'1" 175, big mountain/comp style skier.

Skied these beasts in the 192 for the first time yesterday...hands down, best ski I have ever been on.

Conditions were variable, slightly firm, refrozed crud early on but gradually transformed into smooth cement, or at least the skis made it feel like that. For a ski of this size and stiffness, makes all size turns at all speeds remarkably well and bulldozed anything in their path. Incredibly stable and stomped like I never left the ground. Can't wait to run these in mid-winter conditions.

Basically, it's a fat GS ski with a perfect dose of tip rocker. I like the tip rocker profile better on these than the longer, more gradual profile of the 105 waisted predecessors as they seem to cut cross-fall line slightly quicker. Also, the extra 7mm in the waist didn't seem to make a difference in getting the ski on edge.

You definitely need legs to drive these, but the rewards speak for themselves.

Thanks for the info. I think I recall that you were on Turbos at one point. Can you compare the 2 skis?

Basically, the Turbos are definitely a more playful, forgiving ski and can still charge, but will not rally through everything the way the 'Bones do. Also the Turbo's seem to have a speed limit (it's high) but I haven't found one on the Garbones.

Had a few days on my 2011 Moment Rubies and am liking 'em......been eyeing the 2011 Moment Garbones at evo.com for $399.

Sounds like the Garbones could be the ski to keep up with my buddy on his Line Motherships!

.....just hard to hide the 5th pair of skiis in the garage.

Just pulled the trigger on the 182s. Hoping I'll be out on them this weekend. They seem like a nice daily driver to complement my 190 Bibbys.

Loved my 182's and they did not lack of pop what so ever. They were good in every condition and held a solid edge especially on the EC ice.

Moment's feel plenty poppy to me. I have never had a 'dead' feeling on them.

I just picked up my 182s. These are one beefy ski! They flex is as stout as you'd expect, the layup is thick and they weigh 10.6 lbs!

I should get out on them on Sunday. Can't wait!

Where are people mounting these? Recommended seems to be 81.5 cm from the tail, or -8.5 from true centre. Mount there or go forward a bit?

Mine were mounted on the line and I thought that they were perfect.
