it was hilarious.. I was right beside the guy leading the charge for the snowball fight, and the second guy that tried to jump line (have a good vid of it I'll add to my year-end vid).
So I saw the guy who's ski got stuck on the ramp of air jordan during my second lap. He bailed right away, both skis went flying, and his ski got stuck at the bottom of the cleavage face. Second ski went down to the trees halfway down the run. When I came back after my next lap, he was starting to bootpack up the wall on the left of jordan. Couldn't believe he was trying it. Got back from another lap and he made it to the top of the trees on that 50+ degree slope.. trying to make his way over to the ramp.. shear idiocy. luckily then, the guy with orange pants jumped down to the ramp and was able to stop himself.. slid down to the ski and gave it to the guy. Huge, huge gongshow on jordan.
Anyways, wondering if anyone here or anyone you know of will be setting a highway around spearhead anytime soon (Wigley?). planning on doing it in a day on sunday so it'd be great to know if there will be a trail set plus some beta on conditions.

Well that's a whole bunch of not entirely unexpected bullshit.
Problem: Everyone hates our stupid pay parking scheme and does everything possible to avoid it.
Solution: More paid parking.
Genius, RMOW. Fucking genius.
This shit's up my summer a lot more than my winter to be honest.

the whole point of a resort is to fleece the visitor out of as much of their cash as possible. get used to it.

Lots 4 & 5 becoming paid parking is the worst kept secret in recent history. Certain muni staffers were talking about it even before the lot 1-3 meters were installed. It's all part of RMOW's war on cars.
And +1 to it being more of a problem in the summer which is probably why the rate is higher in the summer. It's unfortunate that our summer business is more vulnerable to this bullshit than our winter market.

Got stuck behind avy closure this morning at the bottom of the Duffey.
A good chunk of the Roar chutes ripped out(heli bombing?) right around Southern Comfort and buried the road in a couple places up to 15m deep. Pretty gnarly.
Had a good day after the delay, stuck to NE/W lines, didn't see anything else other than some solar affected snow, low below ridgeline.Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.

I got a lunch break from babysitting today and went out for a few resort laps. It's nice to see everyone charging out the slackcountry gate because I got some sweet boot top blower still fresh on some of my favorite inbound spots. No lift lines either. Totally not what I was expecting at all! Woo hoo!

Just thought I'd add to the list, a couple huge slides out the backside of Phalanx. Seem to be from cornice activity. A slide I figure must be a class 4 on Phalanx glacier, and another 3 to 3.5 in the last basin as you wrap back around towards the ridge which contains the poop chutes. Also, some very easily released 1.5's of the wind slab variety towards treeline. Terrain choices were definitely a talking point today!
That said, it is freaking awesome skiing these days!
