Anyone else have the Contour GPS?

So I went out and bought one and took it for a test ride on the bike ..

Gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in their storyteller software. It's supposed to be a video editor but all it does is clip your footage and save it.. Anyway besides the point..

Has anyone figured out how to export your footage with the map view layered onto it ? say if i wanted to post it to youtube with the map.. how do you do that?

Also, I can't seem to figure out how to make it show my speed / elevation in the map view...

Did you ever figure it out?

Can anyone comment on if it is worth the extra cash? I mean is it a very good feature?

There still hasnt been any updates on their end.

I've turned off the GPS function as it makes the dismal battery power even worse (at least in the cold, where we'll be using them most)

On paper it sounds like an amazing function, but I still cant export my videos with the gps map, so kinda useless IMO.

The GPS is supposed to have a better battery than the HD as well as a still shot mode, so if you have the extra cash, grab the GPS for those functions and hope that they'll release a new version of their storyteller software soon.

I can post some vids soon..

That's kind of a downer. Thanks for the input.

I think Contour just stepped this up a notch !!

Cant wait to see this in person.. and I have hopes that they will come up with a proper editing software that allows for exporting location data

    Contour GPS now with Bluetooth

So I used my Contour HD GPS yesterday. It worked great, thanks for the input. I don't know why yours didn't, but my GPS worked great right out of the box? I'll put up an edit once I figure out their software.

my gps works fine as well .. my only beef is that you cant export/incorporate the map view in your video.

with the new storyteller software you can see speed and elevation too .. i just updated. originally it was only showing the map..

its definitely improving and I'm hopeful that soon enough it'll be bomb proof

how did your battery life fair ? I'm going to buy a second one

ps. their software only crops your video.. let me know what you end up using for proper editing!
