Thread: Rossignol Super S7, 195cm Dimension?

Picking up a pair S7's, leaning towards the 195 vs 188 and I want to be sure I know what I'm getting. Me 6' 210, strong skier, primarily ski Tahoe (SV) with trips in between. Does anyone know the correct dimensions for the Super S7?? I found published waist dimension from 115 to 117 to 120.

Also, with the added titanial in the 195 Super S7, should I expect the SS7 to behave similar to the current model Katana (with bindings mounted +2)?

comparing the super 7 to the katana is a pretty tough call, still wont be as stiff as the katana. super 7 will be a better charging ski for sure than the regular s7

Non of my local shops have have the SS7 195 in stock to fondle....Any insight on what the actual dimensions are for the 195 S7?

the 195 super 7 measures an actual 192cm and has a 117mm waist.

They ski short, and will by more turny than Katanas. They are very easy to pivot and slash to loose speed, but also can be carved on hard pack. If you were going to AK, like huge open bowls and crazy speed, then Kats are more suitable. But if slower style billy goating, spines and low-vis tree skiing then there isn't more forgiving ski than the SS7.
I suppose if your a little gun shy on the landings you might wheelie out a little, but +2 should take care of that. I wouldn't go past +1 because I wouldn't want to loose any more tip. I am 6' 180, and have tried the 197 Katana and 195 S7.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I can be patient to wait and demo the ski. So by saying the SS7's ski short, will the 195 SS7 feel 185-188'ish?

I weigh 185 and skiied Super 7 no problem. Feels like a 185-190 but has stability of 195

It's a shame that the Super 7's have never been discussed here before. Bummer.

I'm 5'10" 180, ski on the East coast and I'm no badass charger and I thought the 188's skied too short. You + Tahoe + 188 S7 = noodle

Both of the last two posters... PLEASE SEARCH! There is already about 10 pages about mounting points if you just look and no matter what your topsheet says, they arent 120. Everytime this crap stays on the top page it knocks off something that actually has new info. So please just search

If you decide to get the S7 definitely go with the 195. However, I started skiing that ski last season and am currently waiting for my third pair to return from warranty. Both pairs I've had have cracked on the sidewalls under foot without any out of the norm abuse. A friend of mine had the same problem... I don't wish to badmouth the ski as I absolutely love to ski it but having had these issues with the seven I'd like to warn others. If any consolation, Rossi has been great about warrantying them without delay.

adambird, interesting to hear that about the SS7 sidewall. How big are you? Where did you mount the binding?

I am 6'1 and 190. I mounted the ski at plus 2.5. My friend who had the same problems is 6'4 and 190. His were mounted at zero.
