In the comic, Rick has a nervous breakdown and is replaced as group leader for a while. The screenplay is totally puttng the elements of the comic into a blender to keep the story new and unpredictable but the Rick loses his mind thing is in the comic. Its all totally scrambled around at this point.

I'm pumped for the Daryl and Meryl story line, even if it ends up being short run. Dem' rednecks can kick some shit.

Those commercials for Comic Men are most annoying. And that fucker who does a little talk show afterwards. I want to hang him by his skinny tie. From now on, I watch the next day on the DVR and zap that stupid shit. Problem is, I'm surrounded by some super geeks at work who spend Monday and Tuesday talking about this thing constantly. Like, they've read the fucking comic book and compare, and predict next weeks episode. I need a new job.

That was an awesome episode. Absolutely bonkers ending.

Benny, couldnt agree with you more. I DVR the episode, and then watch it an hour later, while that fucking infuriating "talking dead" show is going on (wife LOVES that show, btw) and I can FF all the commercials, including about 20 over the course of the show for comic book men. (which I've honestly never watched)

Anybody notice last night, when the governer took the bandage off of his fucked up eye and was looking at it in the mirror, it was his LEFT eye?? When all the while, before and after, its his right eye?

Just a camera tweak. The view was of his image in the mirror. Watch it again, you'll see how the camera pans away from the mirror as he is turning around.

Kind of a slow episode, but definitely building up to bigger and better things.

I hope they get more ballsy. It's been kind of a weak show past few episodes.

Theyre defiinitely building up to something big.. (Obviously, season 3 only has a few more episodes)

But despite being a little bit slow, its nowhere near as bad as, for example, game of thrones last year. I was really ready to hang it up before the last two or three episodes, and that is an excellent show.

Walking Dead, theres none of that. Even the middle of this season, which has been relatively slow (slow for walking dead, that is) has been fucking awesome TV

This is a WILDLY successful show that highlights something: People LOVE good quality "scripted" content that has a great story and isn't a bunch of assholes locked into a house together and try to fuck each other over. Shows like TWD show how badly reality TV is...

The one thing that continually bothers me about this is how the main group are just so fucking stupid stometimes. They knew an attack of some sort was coming, they armored up that elevated walkway thing, etc, but they are all just standing around outside without weapons fucking chilling and talking waiting for someone to come and shoot them. The truck full of walkers was an ok idea, but really 5-6 sniper that knew how to shoot (with guns on semi auto not full auto) posted up in the woods taking careful aim could of taken out most of the group easily instead of just axel. They should of had someone up in those watch towers with rifles at all times. They've done a bunch of other stupid shit too. You'd think by now their awareness level would be a bit higher, they just seem to bumble around doing whatever until shit gets real then they manage to get through it ok sometimes mostly by luck.

It was also really stupid for rick to send the other group (the black folks) packing. They need manpower. Now is the time to let them out one at a time to help with things and start earning trust so that when the governor attacks they have a few more shooters. Even besides that, the prison is huge, there is a ton of potential for setting up a real society, fenced in room to farm enough food to support thousands of people that the prison also has the facilities to house. That would require gradually letting people earn trust by giving them more responsibility and stuff.

They should of been clearing the forest around the prison to have clear fields of fire, they should of been trying to plant food, going on runs to gather resources like they did at the farm. They werent trying to build anything though they were just hiding. Of course its too late for all that now until the governor is dealt with.

My girlfriend and I have discussed the frustrating stupidity of the main characters. We came to the conclusion that its because they're from the southern US.

Southern people are stupid in many ways, and fat citified southern people are stupid in most ways, but if I had to fight a war against the zombies I'll take some rednecks and hill folk on my side before some damn yankees. Daryll and Meryll seem to be doing all right. It kind of ruins the show for me because it makes it unbelievable. People that stupid would of died. The attack by the governor is theperfect example. He surely was smart enough to just use a few snipers to shoot them all, but no theres the truck full of zombies. I'm still watching.

I think most of them are shattered physically, emotionally, and for some e.g. Rick psychologically.

Living in fear of the zombies must be hard enough without throwing humans into the mix.

And the guvnor could have used snipers but he's a sick fucker and likes the idea of mental torment.

I found it a morality tale or a statement on what the world of the people who survived has become. Not sure what to make of when they passed the backpacker. Shit to survive alone just walking around is either super dumb luck or skill. A bit a black humour that they back up to grab the backpack.
