I've been touring around here a good bit, from white and pink pine to rocky point to grizzly to the emmas to cardiff, but not posting pics here - seems so redundant and I don't know that any of you are interested, so why bother? But here are a couple since I was out with our smart weatherman, Lionel Hutz and his girlfriend Holly. Please tell me if this face we skied is called Cardiff or Flagstaff, because I get mixed answers. I have been there over and over now, including solo - I just love it on a bluebird powder morning.

Sweet! Looks like you've been making the best of Utardia. That first shot is Poleline Pass. Flagstaff is north east of that. Cardiff is behind and northwest of where that shot is.

Cardiff fork is the drainage northwest of the bowl that you were skiing, which is called Cardiff bowl. Although the peak above, with the weather station, that they put the christmas tree shaped lights on is officially named: 10,277, but it is always called Cardiff peak. My friends and I just refer to it as the christmas tree.

Did east bowl for the first time, super fun, great snow considering how warm it was, everything was stable, some sluffing on the south face in grizzyl gulch on the way back to the car.

Thanks for the info. One of these days I want to go further north there and ski around the heli terrain. Cardiac?

But tomorrow I am thinking of Superior - e/se from the top. I'd like your evaluation. Ski maybe between 10-11 am? Or will it just be too warm?

Superior is generally a good time, but it is tracked out and will mostly be a variety of crusts after our warm day today and our winds last night. And yes, given that the forecast high temp for LCC is 41-45, 11 will probably be too late for a south facing run.

Looks like West Bowl to me. East facing, yes.

Edit to add, Nice vid, good angles. Thanks for the stoke!

Mixed bag today. Found some deep surface hoar that skied pretty well but its also starting to camouflage the icy, bare patches. I got to push into terrain that I've rarely felt safe skiing; large, open 35 degree rock slabs.

Variable out there today on N-NE aspects below 10k up north in the Wasatch. Surface hoar noticed on shady slopes below 9k.

So I skied superior from the top (se) at 10:30. It was perfect. I'm so happy.

I'll put up a couple of pics shortly.

I recognize that turn. Did you ski some of those NE gullies off of the peak? It almost corned on the other side.

Supportable crust and fast travel at 6,000ft elevations.

Surface faceting despite warm day time temps.

The fog is now smog. Perhaps this page is a better resource for "current conditions".

My partner lost his keys on Circle Awl this morning. Just in case someone found some keys for a Dodge up there. I think he also had some Toyota keys on there too.
