    TR: Perfect transition??

So Oct 15th was the close of NY state trout which means I have two weeks left in VT and need to start thinking great lakes trib steal. Not wanting to give up on what has been a fantastic season, I went out Friday morning for one last rip on a favorite stream. Greeted by high flows and chocolate milk I was down and out. With thoughts of fishing VT the next day, I started thinking about that nor'easter that was set to hit Friday night in much of the adk's and greens. A quick scan of noaa revealed a present like no other, my bags were packed and I was on the road by 10 PM.

What happens next on Oct. 16th can only be described with the following images.

That sums up my morning skinning and sking some deep early season cream

We skied all the way down

and the parting "it is october proof" shot

I heard about the snowfall on the news...I'm glad somebody got to enjoy it!

They said 25cm; was that accurate?

    Which skis are those?

This is my home, I don't know how to post anywhere else. I like the people here. I went fishing one day, it sucked and I got depressed. The next day I went skiing and got happy.

I just want to share my story.

Times are tough for me right now and I'm fragile, please be kind.

    Thanks,

sorry. i was just joking. the symbol generally means "that's pretty sweet." i actually dig that the subforums on this website seem to feel more like the kind of community that the main ski forum on TGR used to feel like.

do they close the trout fishing season in NY so early because of spawning brookies?

    You Son of a Biscuit!

Awesome transition, for sure, looks like the start to a beautiful Winter.

    Where were you skiing?

-and Right Forum, IMHO, I'd bet the average of actual skiers/riders on the fishing forum is higher than the average of on the ski/snowboard forum

Thanks guys, and lone no harm done.
Pics are from the big dipper glade at killington. Freak storm put 24+ on the hill over night and I happened to wake up in the parking lot.

Not sure why they close trout but it prob is a spawn thing.
I made the skis last year and call them the harvesters.

Adi, it was a crazy couple of days. Here is to many more!

Very well done and sorry to hear that the river was blown out. Looks like you made up for it though. Thanks for some snow stoke. It is like 80 here today. Big front finally moving in this weekend...only to probably rot by Nov.
