I'm posting this here because I don't go in the GOT thread because of all the damn book spoilers.

i watched it and kind of wondered why you'd want to do it in those conditions.

Doesn't really stop being winter on Robson till july-september, when it kind of becomes what late spring-type conditions are most places in the mountains . So the same reasons that most standard "big lines" don't get skied till april, snowpack needs to settle with some warmth. Snow isn't tacky enough most of the winter to stick to exposed glacier high in the rockies, I bet it's the same as most other high glaciated faces in that it looks better in August than February (sheer ice in feb). As ski traffic increases up there (only been done a handful of times in the last ~5 years, nothing before), people will push the season earlier and in better condition, maybe even June. But I've never been that high, so this is mostly useless speculation

I recall having an old '80's ski movie about Eric Pehota and Trevor peterson attempting a descent in the '80s. It was a pretty boring movie though and I think they never made the descent if I recall correctly.
Ahh - here it is: http://extreme-vidz.com/ski/extreme-...son-north-face

Ha! That diving platform one was sweet! No cringe... all laugh. The fight?.... My only question is how did those dumb cunts end up sitting across from each other punching?? The legless broad intervening makes perfect sense sometimes.
