Not sure if you guys are aware or not, but the contrast on the screen at the Whistler show was way, way, way off. Either that or you guys shot the movie with camera's from the 60's.

It really sucked to watch and I almost walked out. Skiers looked like black dots on a big white screen. Whomever was in charge of setting up the technology totally flailed on that one. If you doubt what I say, give Ian Mac or the Doglotion guys a call and see what they thought about it.

Was this a 3d set up or just a DVD through a projector? maybe it was where you were sitting.

no, they announced the 3d flail before the movie started. pretty much everyone there commented on it including Ian McIntosh who made an announcement at the end that the shitty contrast was not part of the movie. It was like trying to watch a video on the internet in 1995. Painful.

Yea the Bozeman show sucked equally. Watched the MSP show last night on the same projector and the "emerson projector sucks" argument is a load of crap.

yea the first whistler show was a joke in terms of quality. Powder segments were all whited out, and the park stuff you couldn't even see the jumps.

i think it was ian mac (not sure), took the mike at the end and said something to the effect of "sorry about the contrast, we'll get that fixed next show.... right?", but who goes to see the same thing twice during one night.

anyway, it really took away from the movie. It very well could have been the theater, as I'm sure tgr has figured out the filming in snow stuff at this point, but it was still disappointing.

^not the theatre. MSP show looked incredible with full on HD a few weeks ago. Maybe it's a byproduct of trying to shoot in 3d and completely failing.

They had to restart the deeper premier in Truckee because the audio wasn't synced with the video.... sounds like TGR needs to train their premier techs

When I got my Deeper movie on DVD, I was surprised to see things I missed on the crappy big screen. This thread made me think about it.

Welcome to almost every single TGR NYC show ever. They seem to deliberately pick venues with no place to show a movie, and then project it onto some curved wall in the middle of a dance club. Teh suck.

yeah since it pretty much snowed here everyday last season, they must never have had a window to film and just went for the whiteout shots.

Hey guys, Sorry to hear this. This is the same promoter we have used in the past and have not had issues with them running this show. We will be taking this into account for the Whistler shows next year. As for the 3D, we are not showing it at all venues. Some venues are not capable of displaying 3D, this is one of them. The promoter had some press that had indicated this was a 3D show. Sorry about that. It was never supposed to be. You can check individual event pages to learn more about that.

If you get a chance to see the real 3D stuff it is pretty cool. Most people have been stoked on it.

Sorry to here the first show was blown out. It is disheartening to here this after all the work that went into the film.
