New Bros
We finally got around to pressing some new bro models today.
First pic is the 183 Fat 136-111-125 or so with a rockered Lhasa tip.
Sorry, forgot to get the side profile shot, but will try to get it added in here tomorrow.
We were going for a Fat 188, but came up short.
So we now have a 187 Fat with dims falling between a 192 and the 183 Fat (141-115-130). They're standing next to the 183 Fats in the second shot.
They're fresh out of the press, but we'll trim and finish them tomorrow.
I believe we have successfully hybridated traditional characteristics to rocker in these skis in a fashion that gets us into another one ski quiver dimension of awesome with the same 32 meter sidecut as the 179s and 183s.
I'm kinda really super excited about these new bros, cause all I could say was "I can't wait to ski these biatches."
I'd like order to some snow for two weeks from now, please.....

So how do these compare to the Lhasas as far as skiing characteristics, ideal conditions etc?? Fiberglass, carbon, both?? They look great!

Yep. All our skis get equal amounts of carbon and glass, so I guess I better post some weights tomorrow as well.
The 187 has a waist of 115 compared to the 110 of the 183.
As far as how they compare to the Lhasas, this is a traditional dim ski (as opposed to the semi-pintail of the Lhasas) with rocker, so there is 1cm more width in the tail in the overall comparison to the Lhasas.
The Lhasa style tip and the sidecut look super sweet eyeballin' it from the tail.
...guess that's one more shot I need to post.

Are the standard 188s getting the same new 183 love? Will you guys be pressing Splatulas through the season? The ski lineup is unreal right now, keep up the good work Pat.

The 187 Fat is basically the 188 Fat. Standard 188s will get Lhasa tip love, too.
Yeah, we'll be swingin' back to the Splatulas as soon as we get a topsheet for them.
The tops for the 187s will be the same as the 192 tops (but with different numbers on them
)

Wilcox they have both glass and carbon, equal parts. And sex. Lots of sex in there.
Splat, how much of the contact patch does the tip rocker take up? I was really thinking 179 fats for my next setup, but if this new 183 tip loosens it up a bit for the trees, I'M IN. I love the planted feel of my reg 183s- but this is like half 183/half Lhasa... I'm shitting my pants right now imagining them on a pow day."If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise." -Robert Fritz

They look nice. But these days when someone says "Bros" to me, I no longer know what they are talking about. There seems to be so many dims floating around out there my eyes are starting to glaze over.

oh man those could make a killer daily driver with some touring bindings on them especially if the weight stays down and based on the current models I can't imagine it being considered heavy. The whole bro line is really coming along nicely.

Once it snows, all the cornfusion will melt away, Nick. Stroupskier has been killin' it on the press this year. Some peeps want traditional performance with rocker enhancement. We're more than willing to give them that ski and see what we all learn in the process.
I'll run these two skis through the the photo paces with a tape measure tomorrow so y'all have the scoop on weight, profiles, e-edge, rocker, etc.

Sorry, what I was getting at was how those dimensions yield the radius. It looks like the dim on the 183 Bro has only been increased in the waist. Having skied both of those skis, a lot, has me understanding what blend you're going for I just don't get how it works with those dimensions. +5mm from waist to tail seems pretty pintail and not very "traditional".

179 fat; 183 fat; 187 fat?
I've never seen skis made in 4cm increments. I can see the confusion. But, if that is what the public wants, as usual, Splat will deliver

Take the 183 carbon, add more under waist, not much, just the excess from the tail. Don't know the camber profile, but if usual, then killing it. Just my take.
Quiver of one that even Gosey could ski and hike with, all the way up I-70. The next 179 fat bro killer. But, again, I'm just a dentist.
Way to actually produce some skis Pat. Can't wait (yes I can) for the next iteration. Other than that, the only negative thing I can say is you need some newer Argie hookers to post in the ULLR thread. That skank is getting old. 'Specially since tumbler made his appearance.

SPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Where all the white women, uh, I mean pics at?
Ya killin me!
Can we also get one of a 186 lhasa leaning up against the new 183 fat base-to-base? I'm very interested to see how the running lengths compare. Y'know... When you get a second...

Wish I had some extra money, damn it. I need a new pair of daily drivers and these would fit the bill I think.
