definitely an option, but it won't be running when i'm planning on starting the hike and i'm worried that if, for whatever reason, i take much longer than expected, i'll miss the last shuttle. maybe i'll park the car where i'm planning on finishing and hope to hitchhike to the starting trailhead.

It's accessible via Sams Point preserve. 6 miles roundtrip, called verkeerderkill falls. very cool stuff.... all of the gunks are pretty special.

tbatt - nice stuff. I was talking to a guy who takes a cab to the park over there so he can sleep out on the rock overnight without getting his car towed. I can't even imagine climbing that stuff, forget spending a night.

Don't take this the wrong way...but do you have a job? Ever day you are either on MTW or out in the ocean. What the hell do you do? Please tell me you made it big in wall street and then retired to grow fields of marijuana and live it up.
I'd really be depressed if you lived in a van down by the river.

I was stoked on this wild rainbow, and we got into a few this weekend.

White zonkers and wooly bugs were working well early in the weekend when the water was still slightly off color. When it cleared on Monday we went small with Pheasant tails and Princes in small sizes and scored some more nice Bows. Dad asked after his last day, "Does this river have small fish?"
    The answer...only the strong survive.

yes, i have a job. i work full time at EMS portsmouth and take 2 mid week days off a week to ski. i get 6 weeks paid vacation to use as i choose which gets me up on george an additional shit ton of days. i'm also able to switch shifts weekly with non skiers so that i don't miss good weather or storm days on george. i never work till at least 10, 11am, or noon which allows me to surf every day on the way to or from work, i often leave early if the waves are good.

i also dabble in real estate and have done quite well for myself, buying very low and selling stupid high. i have a couple of houses on the cape still with tenants that basically pay my mortgages and my living expenses up here in nh. i have other investments as well.

glad i never went to college as it wouldn't have ever done me a bit of good, plus i despised school to begin with, left high school early in fact.

i don't live in a van down by the river. i live in a very small modest apt in newmarket and drink beer when not skiing and surfing all of the time.

so there you have it. been a responsible ski bum for 20 years since high school, and looking forward to maybe 10 more years at EMS and retiring at 48-50 so that i can finally have the time to ski and surf. LOL!

EAST COAST TR, THE TR THAT KEEPS ON GIVING!

another nice 3 hour surf session this a.m followed by chillin at KB'S with the retirees and semi retirees on the patio in direct view of lots and lots of bikinis. waves were small and weak, but the 5'10" lost plank made quick easy work of the knee/thigh slappers. the plank is like a 10' long board cut in half so you can tick tack, pump, and carve the thing like a short board in, not short board friendly waves

amazing river, fishing, boating, hiking, skiing, pics and documentation stoke y'all!

second date is tonight. she says she wants to feed me. beer will be replaced by wine.

i even took a shower! love summer, WOOT!

"sun is hot and beatin' down, hot enough to melt the ground,a little water would do us good, the clouds would help us if they could..."

hard to believe i'm now nostalgic for that damp+chilly week that's now a distant memory

Hopefully you guys won't get pissed at me for posting this video, but it is pretty damned funny. Seeing the need for new extreme multisport activities this event is a bit like a trying to golf with a .2 BAC. Actually it is not like that, it is that. Since i know some of ya'll are golfers, i thought i would plant the seed for next year. maybe we'll see some you out in our little neck of the woods...

i know some of you know about it and most dont care but anyone have any thoughts about the ORDA taking over mgmt of belleayre? its low angle and all but i have had some good days there

^^ heard about that. Not sure what to think. ORDA seems to do a good job of managing Whiteface, but it feels like just about the opposite when it comes to Gore. Anytime I ski those two places in a short time period, I have a real hard time understanding how it's all under ORDA's umbrella. I know there's more to it than that, but for all their talk about making Gore a true destination, it never really feels like they've thought it all the way through, versus Whiteface where there's so much more to do and see.

Unrelated to ORDA, but related to all this hot weather... next Saturday, June 18th is the Saratoga Brewfest. http://www.saratogabrewfest.com/ $45 for [I think, I hope] unlimited tastings from ~60 breweries from around the country. The gf and I will be there, if anyone else wants to join.. have at it. Should be a fun, heavily buzzed day.

Rog, I always thought you had made it big as a porn star?

We will need pics of this young little surfer hotty (in a bikini laying on the board would be preferred) in order to confirm the truth of your statements. Haha! I do live vicariously thru you! Fantastic.

Great stoke. I have been away for a couple weeks dealing with bullshit worse than a hot water enima! But almost behind me.

Good news . . . had second interview with med supply company for a sales weasel job and it went well! Met with 6 people (good sign?) for almost 4 hours! Hope to hear soon.

Continue the stoke and hope to join soon!
