ya, i guess after spending a bunch of time living/skiing there, some lingo stuck with me. so glad an angry inch here has so much more staying and riding power than sometimes much more inches out there do.

Going to have to get out with you one of these days soon Rog, and put my leg to the real uphill to the test.
anytime TC. you know where to find me and i'm easy to get ahold of. let's go look at some snow!!!

^^^^^ Friends always use that term out there meaning 12". Its never enough for them out there

Carefully analyzing the strength everyday, hoping soon, Probably just GOS or ES> lobster claw or something else with the least pitch while still being fun. Best place on the east to look at snow for sure!

oftentimes, the lower angles give the best ride and most fun imo. you'll never find me in steeps with mediocre snow or other ski tracks visible if untracked better snow is available on the meadows.

    untracked good snow steeps? ftw.

step by step TC. you are so on your way

ok, i'm going skiing now. should be plenty soft by now.................

Warm, windy and rain in Montreal today... Our great urban snowpack is definitely taking a hit. Glad I got to make some personal fd's on some Mont Royal steeps last week (=

Jay is starting to look pretty decent for Sunday/Monday...

Dude, post some pics! I've stared down so awesome looking lines up there... Montreal is the best so I can also settle for some of your fine urban scenery, especially the kind that walks around on st. laurent friday and saturday nights! yow!
.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

I'm usually on 3-pins, almost always at night, so I didn't attempt some of the crazier "chutes" but I did see tracks on them last week.

Measured this section at 42 degrees

    Urban avy debris!

    Summit tracks

One line I wasn't quite prepared to handle on the 3 pinners.. It's on the todo list once we get another dump

I'll be there Sunday and happy to hook you up but I doubt there will be any lack of mag passholders sitting with UNM at the freedogger's table by the bar.

Nice thing about GOS is you can skin all the way to the top (if you know where to go), which I'm guessing might be more efficient for you even if it means travelling a bit further. I'd be up for a trip when snowpack permits and the snow is good.

I've been kindly informed that passholder's discount doesnt apply because of the holiday weekend. shit happens

Oh yeah, totally forgot about that caveat. I'm definitely not plugged into the whole "it's a holiday" thing since it doesn't really apply to most of my life. Maybe UNM still has some of his "first-timer" tickets left?

Yesterday: Tried to ski mank on skinnies too late in the day. Tough.

Today: Hit a more reliable spot earlier, and on the Guides. Success.

    No pics.

Had work stuff until midafternoon but as I drove home from my meeting I passed a local hill that I couldn't resist hitting even if I'd probably missed the best corn of the day. Got my gear, went back and found top-to-bottom straightlining worked

though I made a few genuine turns too.

Two laps of around 125' vert each in t-shirt weather, one hour door-to-door, then plenty of time to finish the day's work.

Lost lots of snow overnight in Central VT. Drove up to K-Mart this morning & it was about 45 degrees & pouring rain at 9am. Took a quick look at lower Ovation & what had been good skiing yesterday now had a lot cancer. Decided to drive home, I don't ski in the rain if I can avoid it. On the other hand yesterday was great spring skiing with bluebird sunshine till about 3pm. It's gonna be a mess when this stuff freezes back up.

Good for you. I was only going to ski a few hours & didn't want to wait for it to stop. I know what Ovation looked like, I saw it. I'm sure some of the other thinly covered trails got wacked to.
