got to love it! even if the snow ain't epic, the circumstances can create its own epicness.

i'd take soft, less crowded snow anyday and would happily give up some bit of perfection for it. way to just go!

looks like picokill is getting it good right now............

they've already bumped up plattekills projected snow by a couple of inches.
.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

Watching the morning news and saw a young skier died at Cannon. Vibes go out to family and friends. Lets all be careful during this up and down early season.

I have nothing in the way of touring gear for plattekill, but I might be interested in heading down Saturday or Sunday if things are looking good after this wave of snow. Woke up to about an inch here this morning, which sounds like nothing but it's about 1000% more than we've had so far so I'll take it as an encouraging sign.

    Cannon 6-8" and still snowing!

Of course I cannot be there! But Cannon is reporting 6-8" last night and still snowing. The report is calling for an additional 3-5" today. Remember it is still early and there is still not much base - be careful out there. Those that can get out should enjoy today! Gideee up!

    Upper level snows = awesome.
Really liked the totals I wrote up yesterday 5-9 inches should be reasonable along the spine by noon today with maybe another few the rest of the day.

Catskills gonna start getting those lake bands later today most likely.

Real question is when does the next round of upslope snow move into the greensand ADK. For a few days now I've pegged the night of the 15th into the night of the 16th as the best time. Models have danced around a bit with the data here and there but it still looks really good to center the next significant upslope event on midnight Dec. 16th. So that means from the evening of the 15th thu the morning of the 16th.

Now...as for another note...What's up with the funny bartender at the Alchemist? Does that cat only say "OK" and "Cool" Went for the first time saturday night...pretty good.

LH- huh we were in the corner window table when you walk in on the right, we were gone by 6. with the little blond munchkin running around, drinking topper and cask el hefe. Bartending crew is top notch there, great people, just need to get to know them is all.

After seeing that description I think I saw you guys, but I had a few beers and was 99 percent sure you were all speaking in French. Also, I think KC was checking me out. I could be wrong though, but I am pretty awesome after a few beers.

That's wasn't KC checking you out. It was moi. (flutters eyes).

Ha. G's totally right- the pretzel to cheese ratio is way off.

I was drinkin the porter which was bood but a little too sweet...too much chocolate undertones and not enough coffee if that makes sense.
