What do a girl from the NEK and Wayne Gretzky have in common?
They both shower after 3 periods....
(originally a Hardwick specific joke)
thank you, thank you, I'm here all week. Remember to tip your waitstaff well and try the veal, it's excellent.

I don't mind a WROD. It's the crowd that ruins it for me. I think, at this point, I'd prefer hike or cross country skiing to a crowded resort day on manmade snow. I don't leave the city to hang out in a crowd.
That said, I'm ready to at least get some skinning workouts in, even if it means heading up the edges or groomers. With many resorts opening in the next week or so finding a place for early season skinning can be tough. I'd like to compile a list of resorts that allow uphill traffic. Legs need to be ready to take advantage of the powder when it comes.
Magic allows uphill traffic. Are any other EC resorts as accommodating?

God, we're all just a little bit mean. I'm frustrated. I hate work. And I am absolutely certain it's because I have not skied and the weather isn't changing. I am pretty sure, it hasn't gotten below freezing yet in Boston. It's driving me insane.
To borrow a quote from one of my favorite movies: "Wow, all that testosterone has made you mean!"
We gotta go ski and get some current stoke.
edit: not from East Coast. None of my east coast stoke is worth a shit. Hopefully that'll change this winter.

Hahaha... I know dude, I was actually just kidding because I was pretty sure you were kidding too. I sorta agree with you after all! Nobody wants to ski in a crowd- me least of all (I HATE crowds more than anything!)- but at this point, I feel like it's been so long I'm ready to bang the fat girl and I'm done with being too cool for crowd/WROD (cwrod?) (actually I just finished up all the work I allotted for myself) and just want to get blitzed while I ride a lift with my friends and slide on something snow-like, periocidally hammering my skis over bare sharp rocks (if at all possible) because I love to do that.
This whole page all leads back to the "we all need to ski" concept.
Which is what I'm trying to do, even if it she IS fat.

excellent wagon to be on!
what is everyone schralping on? when i was in VT for school, I rocked a dynastar legend 8800 with fritschi freerides, 168 length. Was perfect for Jay. I unloaded them last year while in Utah and spent all of last season on the super 7. The thing rips and was my one ski quiver out there. As much as I would love to whip that thing on the east (and I prob will) i feel like its physically too long to navigate jay trees (not the smoking kind you hippies) and the like. i'm thinking a shorter s7 w/ a touring binding? maybe the sultan 94 or whatever? i like rocker, camber, and balls (in the gayest way possible)...thoughts?________________________

No. just fuckin around, some people aren't good at it though.
the funny part is I will be riding the WROD next week, but its only 10 miles away and only mindnumbing after an hour or two, its a strange phenomenon the WROD skiing, you tell yourself how bad it is on the car ride over, you shake your head getting your boots on in the parking lot knowing it will suck, you hate standing in line, you curse the "snow" they blew out of a hose and always comment on how they fuck it up more every year, and yet you can't stop going
gotta go, one of the sheep just took off!

I like skis :D
My quiver is:
• 178 (rockered) Gotamas with Barrons (don't need the 15 DIN of the dukes)
• 178 older Head Monsters
• 175 BD Killowatts with 7TMs for the tele setup.

There's also the really old Volkl G3s and the older tele setup, the K2 World Piste... But those are rock skis at this point.
I only got the Gotamas last year and I've been nothing short of impressed by them. They seem to perform well in pretty much any conditions I've taken them out, short of ice bumps. But really, what skis do well in ice bumps?... I could probably have gone longer, but I like being able to swing my skis around on a dime in the tight woods of the NE. The only downfall of this setup is that it's HEAVY. REALLY REALLY HEAVY. But I guess it makes me strong.
The Monsters are a bit thinner underfoot than I'd like (88), but they're a great standby for most of everything. Although they're a few years old, I still love 'em.
I've really been digging the new tele setup that I've got. The Killowatts, although not the prettiest ski, are so much fun! The 7TM binders are great, although switching from tour -> ski (or vice versa) can be a pain if there's snow/ice in the binders. Still, I really dig this setup, esepcially as it's a nice counterpoint to the heavy touring setup of the goats/barrons.
