I agree! looks more fun then going to see the 2 horses at the chicken sanctuary! Really, it's a fucking chicken sanctuary, I can't make this shit up! They also rescue other animals ie. the 2 horse for me work on. I work as a farrier and have to put shoes on horses and trim there feet. Today was something for the book. Working in this flaping tarp barn that was full of not just chickens but geese and turkeys too. The loose cows were going through the back of my rig knocking shit out all over the place. At one point there was a cock fight right uder the horse while I was holding one of his feet. Holy Fuck! I wanted to tell them about my own chickens, but didn't think they find me funny at all! Hope you all had some good visuals at my expense!!
Oh, and the rain is still comin' down in Southern Vt.

Raining hard at Jay now, 45F degrees.
On a tangent, the food at Jay Peak's restaurant (Alice's Table) is impressive. I got to sample 12 entrees tonight as part of my training. The chef came out and explained all the dishes and ingredients. Most of it is locally sourced, and he uses lots of bacon in his dishes. Only real butter, which is whipped daily (no vegetable oils whatsoever), homemade pasta rolled daily, organic greens and vegetables, very minimal deep fried food (nothing we sampled tonight was fried), and a lot of the meats are from Brault's.

Let us know when it turns to snow!
Woodcorps and I ate at Alice's Table for our anniversary in September. It was the first time we'd eaten there, but we'd heard good things about it from people we consider to be rather discriminating. We were not disappointed. The food was very good, nice wine selection and the ambience is just the right mix of rustic and upscale. But honestly, the employees who waited on us were remarkably professional and really added to the "perfect evening" we enjoyed there.

Ooh, that sounds might tasty! Will def give it a try!

Gonna see Benny for the boots? If yes, tell him I said hi...and so far, love my new Tecnicas! (If he says, "Who's SheSkisTrees?" tell him 'your favorite kayaking companion at Marti's parties.' Then, you get to hear some stories.
) Also tell him the ski patrol director says her Langes feel a bit cramped so far and she's jealous of my Tecnicas (which he had her try on but she passed on them
).
Pizza...Pie in the Sky?
Woot! Comin' our way!

went from balmy into late afternoon - to violent rain and foggy windows everywhere...to some slushy frozen precip on my windshield at 6pm.
haven't checked back but NOAA was showing all snow through tuesday in the MRV...maybe this will be a good stretch after all - and at least bury some ice!

Made the best of the rain today. Walked down the street from my office in the gale to pick up a pair of blue-graphic Volkl Snow Rangers with worm screw metal 957s...one mount, no ptex repairs, great shape, for basically cheap beer $$. Been wanting a pair of these since I demoed some protos, finally added them to the quiver today. Be my skiing the grass, ice and rocks (i.e. MRG) ski and kid-trainers. So stoked!!

NYC Mags -- EMS SkiShop
EMS downtown did a great job mounting these planks for me and at a really great price!
The guy misquoted me on the phone and honored the price of $40 a pair. But the actually going rate is $80 a mount which is still highly competitive considering the prices at pgon ($125) and ski barn ($100) out in NJ. Its such a new shop too i'm positive one would be able to bargain the tech (Gavin) down from $80....
Except he wasn't cool bending my wide brake a little to get it around the new P4's which ill have to do myself (but also understand the liability factor there as well).
Now lets just prey this rain turns to snow so i can finally shred some turns!!

major cities- mounts cost $80-100. it's ridiculous, but the cost of doing business and economics. DC, NY for sure, boston may be a bit cheaper (more ski shops up there).
definitely know the shop before you have any work done- a lot of hacks out there, especially in the flatlands.
