If you got a big lift, it's about the same money as well.
not that i didnt want to tour but the lady wasnt equipped. also, i hate that fucking extreme drive to mellow hunter. anyway, heres the report from belleayre:

COLD. WINDY. shoulda wore leggings. gran marnier w hitachino espresso stout was a good combo though. there was alot of cars in the lot, probably the furthest ive ever parked from the lodge, but idk where all those people were cause the trails were pretty much empty. ski on all day. sides of the trails are wind loaded with such a creamy softness. must have been that same snow that was up in NoVT last week that i missed. the closed trails are COVERED in this soft, fluffy snow but each turn is a touchdown.
despite the extreme cold (highest temp i saw was 12) the trails are not bullet proof and quite edgeable. still too thin in the trees... sorry BUTTAH but hey, i did get almost half a day on those smooth bases!
noticed tomahawk lift was running so we hiked over and had the entire thing to ourselves. liftee said only one other person had come through all day and did two runs. about an inch fell through the day so nothing got iced out. well worth the 20 spot.
"yeah, yeah. you buy playboy for the articles just like i watch brokeback mountain for the scenery... wait, that doesnt work."

VTsession its THIN anywhere there hasn't been snowmaking I suppose if you found low angle grass that had been wind loaded you'd be ok, but I wouldn't count on anything

UNM, from what I saw in the office on Tuesday looks like you've only got to sell $300,000 worth of stickers to hit the magic number

That's called swine flu. With temps so frigid "The snow-making capital of the world" should have made shitload of good dry pow, gotta go get it before it turns into a mush this weekend.

I'm thinking about skiing Magic Saturday and Plattekill Sunday... I know there should be decent group at Magic, anyone else game for Plattekill?

Anyone hit Smuggs this week? Gonna be in Burlington again this weekend and looking for some advice on mountains... We did Bolton last weekend and some short hikes/rope ducking led to some great stashes (as you could see from that vid posted). Tempted to go back but wouldn't mind some advice from the locals!

Mmmm back on the EC after some adventures in OR this week. Skied some fresh at Mt Bachelor Tuesday and some sled-accessed backcountry at Paulina Peak yesterday. Got to ski some sweet DPS demos (112 pure, 105 hybrid, 120 hybrid) while I was there, and all I can say is "YUM!" Super nice stuff.

Some pics of the BC stuff.

Anyway, I'll be around Steaux this Saturday, hoping for some fresh, but will be out carving if we're not so lucky.

Has anyone skinned up MRG recently? Thinking of heading up this weekend if they don't open up and doing a couple of laps. Wasn't sure about the conditions though after the rain.

Thanks Strawjack but Laser is the one thinking about the new die cuts. I'm still up to my ears with Magic schwag to unload. "Save Magic" Patagonia base layers should be in soon.

What's Jay got open? I don't have Flash at work so I can't see their main site. They say 6/8 lifts open. I'm guessing the two closed are still the Tram and the Bonnie. Or is the Bonnie open now?
