i like some of the songs a lot. some of it still needs to grow on me. i went to the show last night. got me meet ant, which was sick. got too wasted and got "escorted out" before the show was over, which was not sick.

i believe this is not new songs, just a compilation of EP's. None the less it is still good.

meh atmosphere was cool in like 97, now slug performs weird weird artsy fartsy music, its not rap/hiphop

what's funny to me is how the definition of an EP has changed over the years. A "traditional" EP (Extended Play) is basically a single containing 4 to 5 tracks. back in the day a standard EP would consist of a hit single and then 3 to 4 b-sides, outtakes or live tracks. EPs also were often used to tide fans over until a proper album was coming out (which seems to be the case with this Atmosphere joint).

what's double funny to me is that To All My Friends... is a "double EP" consisting of 12 tracks, which by most standards would be considered an album...



that said, it's on the list to peep.

sadly they by-passed SF on this tour (though they are playing Santa Cruz tonight...SOLD OUT, though).

Yea, I agree with digitaldeath... Atmos was cool back when he could flow, now he just makes a bunch of poppy music.

Seeing him live isn't what it used to be, he seems to be getter old real fast, outa breath and shit. Used to be my favorite, but he has gone downhill..

some of the new stuff is definitely poppy, but i appreciate the full atmosphere catalogue. here i am cheesing it up with ant:

I love atmosphere, I don't care if people don't like him, I don't ever defend music, its too personal, you like it or don't and don't hate on people that don't like your shit.

That being said, Ant and Slug have been going down a different road for the last 2-3 albums with Lemons and now To all my friends, with more of a live music feel. "imagine how much fun" is still my favorite album, i have a mix cd in my truck that hasn't left the player in a year.
