CDN Rockies 2010-11 roll call and stoke

Posted 2 days sooner than last season. August is over, snow is currently falling up high and is adding a little bit ontop of what fell up high a few days ago. I like the trend. "Summer" has been great but don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out

About time too! Mrs and I went for a hike up to Chester LAke yesterday and there's some starting to stick in K-country too. Not much and it's up really high, but it's starting.

Also got my early bird mid week pass for Kicking Horse. Figured if i'm going to drive to LL, might as well keep going. Going to be a riot exploring new (to me) terrain out there this winter. Also getting a SSV pass. Getting antsy already.

Blown most of my coin the last two years on a KH pass, this year it's finally going to tuition. Going to see if I can do a season and not spend a dime on lift tickets. Time to beg, borrow, steal, and skin my way up the hill

Saw the snow on the mountains to the west of Calgary. Got excited, realized it has rained for the last 4 months in the eastern rockies and its bound to dry up here soon. Hope I'm wrong....

    bought a whistler pass instead...

It was a shot of the webcam at Lake Louise from last night showing a very wintery looking scene with no ground showing under the snow. It's melted off now though.

Got my pass for SSV, now I just need the card for Revy and KH and some new winter tires.

I was up in the Healy pass area this weekend doing some scouting around and it looked like there was some snow sticking in the higher elevations already. Bring on the snow!

Getting a student pass for the Horse. Living in Golden most of the winter.

Rode Fernie this past weekend and it snowed up high, with snow on peaks all the way back to Calgary.

I'm in with a SSV pass and a new home in Canmore.... Hopefully I find the skis among the boxes before the season starts.

thanks to mtnlion, backscratcher and others that put some recommendations my way when I started looking for a place. As it happens, didn't use any of them, but was still good to get things moving. I'll shout you guys a beer at some point.....

Was pretty nice waking up to snow on the Three Sisters on our first night in the place....

Pass again at KH. Way cheaper this year for Albertians and BCers who aren't "local" . Saved about $200 compared to last year with SUPER early bird rate ( new this year ) and regional rate ( also new this year). Still sucks to be a late pass holder from Sask or Ont..

I'm convinced if I keep buying enough gear that I don't really need it'll just keep getting colder and snowier. I'm running out of trailers to watch, better get back on ebay.

Ya just like the last 24 you said you would pick up for me. All I got were empty cans and crusty drool all over them.

2TC I got that email you sent to Sentinel, pretty funny. Have you heard from him?

Looking forward to the season as I'm sick of the summer biz. Got the KH and SSV pass so I see many days in the KH backcountry and the parkway with filler days at the shine. Should be a blast

Less than fifty days of work to go and counting.
