Skied Sunshine today. Coverage is still amazing, even the ski-out was good all the way to the bottom. That being said the snow seemed to have a lot of moisture in it and got pretty mushy/sticky, I'm guessing maybe it rained there yesterday? Also, a lot of the fun stuff (i.e. all the black runs) on Standish was closed, since there's so much snow I'm guessing it must be for avalanche reasons?

In all seriousness, it's been a great year and my last day was likely last Friday at SSV.
Off to Vegas Monday so I miss the Slush Cup.
It's been a blast and look forward to seeimg y'all this fall.

Going to be entering the Slush Cup tomorrow! Any tips? Anybody done it before?
I'm assuming the water won't damage my boots and after some googling that seems to be confirmed but there was some concern about snapping skis - do I really have to worry about that? Never seen it happen at the slush cup and it never even crossed my mind but now I'm a bit worried as I really wouldn't want to snap my brand new obseth'ds.

Just a heads up!!
Police had a camo hunting blind set up E bound on Hwy 1 around Jumping Pound/Weigh Station area yesterday and 3 Sheriff/1 umarked vehicles catching speeders.
I've never seen the hunting blind technique before, from a distance looks like a haybail or something or other. Person inside with radar or have they got remote capabilities now?

Twas skiing well. Seemed pretty quiet up there today compared to the last few. No parking lot overflow when we left at 3ish.

Slush cup was fun, spotted Kevin and Sentinel across the run. Pond skimming on canyon trail was also fun.

^freezing levels forecast at around 1700-1800 up to 2200 metres by noon tommorrow. If anyone wants to go to the Icefields or Mt. Joffre a few days after this shit stops then drop me a pm. Joffre could be epic.

Lake Louise @-2 tonight -1 in the a.m. and only a high of 4 in the afternoon.
So...who wants to get out and actually ski some fresh over the next few days and then some big stuff early next week? Or we can sit here and post about it.

Is it raining much in Banff?
Absolutely pissing all day here southwest of Calgary. Data recorder at Elbow Ranger Station down the highway is showing 60+ mm of precip since yesterday, but Bow Summit is less than a mm.
