Baker was fun today

such a great day. did an arm lap, dropped off the back the second time around. out to ann(thanks to whoever set the skin track) and then up and over to hidden bowl(again thank you) and dropped in to the last pitch just as the top of shuksan lost its alpenglow

The touring around Alpy was a lot like this today:

Thanks to the 90 clusterfuck it was great up there for the first hour or two. Almost empty with full on blower snow. Weird crust layer underneath though. I expected it to feel a lot softer, but it was still pretty damn good. No BC laps for me as I was riding alone. Took off about 11 and all lots were full.

X2 - Alpy was off the hook today with exception to the retarded step up to the high-t that some idiot (not patrol) put in yesterday over the waterfall, that required a sketchy step around a tree in an awkward spot. BC was bottomless just about everywhere.

At least 8"... It was snowing hard up there all morning and it was stupid deep from the summit down to where you start to get into the gulleys above the waterfalls.

What was actual drive time Seattle->White Pass?

I'm not sure. I stay at my parents place in Toledo (right off I-5 and Highway 12). It's about 1:45 to Highway 12 in good traffic and another 1:45 or so to White Pass So I guess if you didn't hit any traffic it would be 3.5 hours.

Here's a quickie vid from that area today. Met another maggot while back there as well, not sure his name, but he's from TriCities.

I didn't bother to edit anything, and didn't turn off the camera for the low angle lower shit, so it gets pretty boring after the 1:00 mark, just fyi. Blower pow and faceshots. 6" of new my ass...

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. That area is super fun and so different from anything else that they had before. It really made the mountain feel big and diverse.

Very strong southwest flow is expected at the crest level by early Wednesday causing a sharp and substantial rise in freezing levels. A shift to westerly flow in the passes early Wednesday morning should accompany the warming and change precipitation to rain at the passes, including Stevens.

Heavy precipitation is expected overnight through Wednesday with a brief decrease late Wednesday before the next wave moves in late Wednesday night.

This next wave should cause the freezing levels to rise even further by Thursday morning with renewed heavy precipitation and very strong winds.
