FS: Parting out my bike
Hey Region 1, you win! I can't afford to keep this ever in need of maintenance thing rolling, and there probably won't be any mountain biking left around here in 10 years, anyway. I wouldn't wish this thing even on Downbound or Jer, and I kinda wanna keep the frame and fork unless someone makes it worth my while, and lots of parts on it are still good. It's an 08 model year, and I bought it over the following winter, so it's only got a season and a half on it.
All prices are make an offer. Buyer pays shipping. Local pickup preferred, but not required for bigger stuff.
All the usual rock hits and scrapes, and even a few unusual ones. There is what appears to be a fantastic rock hit on one of the chain stays, right on a weld, but it's really more of a scrape. Either way, it's a great excuse to void any warranty. Furthermore, this bike has never see a drop. Well that's not true. I may have thrown it a few times in a temper tantrum. Also, the rear rotor is now bent into the rear wheel, because I couldn't stand hearing it squeak anymore.
I have no idea what the steer tube length is. If I find a tape measure, I'll let you know. I live on Burlington, if any locals wanna stop by. If you want a part that needs more than a screwdriver or allen wrench to get off, bring tools, or pay me the $3/half hour that it costs to use the shop at school. Also, I'm fantastically un-mechanically-inclined, so many screws are stripped, but I never touched a frame bolt.
Stock bike is here. Following upgrades and parts are as described and sorry about the giant pictures:
Front brake has brand spanking new pads on it. I didn't even get a chance to really wear them in. Rear pads are burned. They both need to be bled. With the proper maintenance, they will actually stop you, I guess. They will have a hard time coming off, and you can have the rear rotor if you think you can straighten it.
Cassette and chain are pretty much gone.
Front tire is nearly perfect, rear has about half the center tread left.
Front rim was bent, and recently repaired to just about straight. Rear wheel had a spoke replaced. The wheels are never true for more than 5 minutes, anyway, because they're the lowest end wheels you can put on a bike that's not from WalMart. Maybe good for a commuter with disk brakes? They're not worth shipping, so local pickup only.
Odi lock ons. Easton Vice 28" bars, medium rise, 31.8 clamp. Truvativ AKA stem, 110 X +/-5 X 31.8 X 1 1/8, I may have over tightened it. Race Face Evolve DH seatpost, 30.0mm, 18mm setback. Burly, but I more or less stripped the bolts on it, so you get the seat that's coming apart at the seems for free with it. Seatpost collar says with the fame. Kona OEM pedals, 1 of the screw/pegs got ripped out. XT Shadow rear mech, seen some rocks, but it seems to work great. Drive train was always degreased, cleaned, and reoiled, the proper way. Probably time for new shifter cables, right side has a nonmatching bolt, because I almost irreparably stripped the threadblock, but it's fixed. Left shifter is missing the indicator, but hey, it's the front. Fork might have a small dent on the lower, but the stanchions are perfect. Probably doesn't even need to be serviced.
Once again, all prices are make offer. If there are STILL questions I haven't answered, or you need a specific picture, feel free to post in the thread. I'll get back to you quickly, and everyone can see. Please claim parts in the thread, THEN pm me.

Stuckathuntermountain has become a TGR institution. You have now entered the ranks of AKPM, perhaps beyond.

Well, I believe in full disclosure, and I don't really WANT to sell it, but I could use the money, and I'm done mountain biking till I can afford the 2000 or 3000 someodd dollars you have to pay to get a bike that's not crap.
beyond, for sure. You buying anything? No? Go shop somewhere else. I've never dicked anyone on a TGR gear swap, and I've always sold at very low prices. youbuynow or gtfo.No longer stuck.
