funny to post this here, but I just watched Further on Netflix. Very much enjoyed the remote locales.

Did The Last Panthers get a mention yet? Sundance channel....

    Very good.

And once again The Night Manager.. two people I have recommended it to have described it as "best TV series they've ever seen".

I loved the Night Manager. Not sure if was the best, but certainly one of the prettiest. Interesting NYT article in the last couple of days about why it wasn't great, but I liked it. Jed,, the blonde.... good lord.

i can't suspend my disbelief for anything on film or in print. it fucking sucks. though i did just watch v for vendetta again, which i will love forever. otherwise, i go through netflix infinite supply of 2 and 3 star offerings slowly dying. wanted to watch the tom.petty thing but i'm just not big enough a fan to care for 4 hours. i'd be hardpressed to watch a 4 hour doc on the dead or the stones and i love them.

The Last Panthers was excellent, although depressing as fuck - fitting given the locale and subject.

The Night Manager ..... a little too pretty and predictable. Pales in comparison the the recent remake of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

    "Valley uprising"
a must watch doc about the climbing history and progression at Yosemite. I don't even like climbing much (bunch of dorks, likely to be Vegan) but I really enjoyed it.

Trying out "Aquarius" with David Duchovny. A little bit of a True Detective season 2 feel...it could might maybe be good, something's missing. Only 2 episodes deep, but going to give it a few more. Anyone else into this?

To be fair that's Sanders highest rated movie in years; Critics hate him, stoned schlubs love him.

I thought it had a few funny moments but was generally flat and tried too hard for easy laughs.

I enjoyed the film as well. What An interesting cast of characters, especially in the early days.m Your 'dork" comment is spot on also. And in keeping with the dork observation, the current Yosemite scene appears to be a festival of ego based douche baggery.

Anyone have any documentery recs? Really into documentaries right now.

I'm not familiar with the Yosemite crowd, but I don't in general hold climbers in very high regard, at least not as high regard as they hold themselves. I'm glad I didn't let my prejudices of today's climbers stop me from watching and enjoying the film.

I love docs, when I have a chance I'll look through my watched list see what I liked
