    Financial "Reform" Bill

The financial reform bill expected to clear Congress this week is chock-full of provisions that have little to do with the financial crisis but cater to the long-standing agendas of labor unions and other Democratic interest groups.

DBT, did you read all 2,300 pages?

The bill has some fucked up shit in it, so I agree with you on that. But, the majority of the bill is rightly dedicated to preventing a financial meltdown.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, nationalized banking will be a reality. In many regards we're almost already there.

Banks and Credit Unions are being forced to set aside extraordinary provision for loan loss amounts, that are purely mandated by the FDIC and NCUA. These provisions for loss are well beyond what is actually needed. This new financial reform bill gives even greater power to the financial regulators (FDIC & NCUA). All of this is preparation for yet another pending financial crisis. History repeats, and next time, we'll hopefully be more prepared.

That's all that really matters, isn't it? Their intent. What it's 'designed to do'. As long as those who wrote it intend well, all the details aren't important. After all, it's the thought that counts, right?
it's all young and fun and skiing and then one day you login and it's relationship advice, gomer glacier tours and geezers.

I think demanding to seek perfection in any government decision making process is a waste of time.

I haven't read it, but I'm sure current and former Goldman Sachs people wrote it. Yeah, that's really pro-Union.
Since when do Unions have anything to do with banks? Is there some kind of municipal bond traders' union I don't know about? I mean, those disenfranchised multi-millionaire paper pushers have it rough.

Snappy come back. Not one word of that post was written by me. I put some quotes around the word "Reform".

I'm a Dick why? Because I pull back the curtain and expose the Obama Administration and the Democratic congress for what it is? You should thank me.

An arm of the baking industry? You've said nothing of the sort. I think you pulled back your shower curtain or something and saw a pattern in the water droplets while you were still half asleep.
