Plantar Fascia laceration

My cousin was cliff jumping and climbing back up he slipped and cut his foot deep enough to slice through the plantar fascia. It was a jagged rough cut that had to be sutured.

Anybody had this type of injury and return to varsity level athletics. He is a very talented soccer player with DI teams looking as a sophomore.

Hope he can heal as he is just back from surgery.
