Dealer event? Nah. I'm sure the manager will, but not the college kid working bike sales.

Hey man, posting online as a representative of such a respectable bicycle establishment, on a place like this? What would management think of that? Where is your disclaimer that indemnifies them from everything you say online? Didn't you get the memo?
and don't even get me started on socks...
Dromond, I'm probably showing my friend and his college friend around tiger on saturday. You're welcome to join, and we might go to North Bend for some relaxing and showboating at the old train trestle afterwardLast edited by BeardedClam; 08-18-2010 at 11:53 PM.

how was it? I went on wednesday and it needs to rain, badly. Every other corner is pixie dust. Went to tiger today and I was pleasantly surprised with the mountains ability to seep water after no real rain in over a month. No hardtails was a little dusty up top, as was Artifact, but the mountain springs kept most of the trail tacky

Sure it's been better but c'mon. Duthie is seeing more traffic than any trails in the Seattle area and it's a brand new park. A majority of the trails were cut last fall and over the winter so it's just seeing its first summer of use. I think it's doing pretty well considering.
That said, I'm happy it's raining a bit. If it pours all night then cuts off at maybe 10ish for perfect mid-day tack shredding... yeah, that will make me happy. And if I ride in some rain I'll still be stoked.

the trails were good yesterday. We do need todays rain badly, but the dust stayed down, not up around head height.
Some of the berms are developing large potholes making it tough to hold speed, but things are still in good shape considering the amount of traffic it sees.
For a nice change it wasnt me getting hurt, but a 12yo instead (sad emoticon).
Little kid on a dirt jumper didnt carry enough speed into the last step up table on the larger jumps line and stacked it hard. Hes got a pretty messed up hip and some good bumps. We, and his mom who showed up shortly afterwords, loaded him into an ambulance and sent them on their way. Bummer for the kid, im 23 and havent hit those jumps yet, hes 12 and claims to hit them every day, just short it today.Live

The bigger jump lines are staying in pretty good shape, mostly because they require a decent level of skill from the riders. As the trails get more user friendly (bootcamp DH, 2Hi, Ryans) the more they get beat — pretty obvious really. And I still think it's doing pretty well.
Bummer to hear a little guy stacked on the Dirt Corps line. I'm assuming you are talking about the wood decked step-up at the end of the line with the wall ride.
I'm stoked on this rain. Can't wait to get out there this afternoon.

Weather's been great for riding lately. I'm so close to my goal of the summer of hitting every line at Duthie! I can taste it! All that I have left is the lower portion of Big Tree and the legend on DWB. I'll be there all week working on it. Pretty damn proud of myself after starting this summer with only road biking and a little xc

Damn dude, that's impressive!
I just got the whole DirtCorps line cleaned on Thursday and want to get the Steep Down on DWB before the weather turns full nasty. Any advice on hitting that guy or just give er?

Its about the same size as the first dirtcorp step down, from lip to dirt, with no caseguard . So if you've got that on lock, go for it. Get some speed before that berm, pump the first roller, wheelie pump the 2nd to 3rd, berm, pedal, berm and coast. You don't need as much speed as you think you do. From there, you literally coast the entire line.
I'll be there most days this week from around 2-5, riding my mismatched Ironhorse. Red grips, green front triangle, black rear.Rogue Weather - Providing accurate, useful, and detailed weather outlook information for the West Coast

It doesn't fit into " Tiger, Grand Ridge, and Duthie" but I think that I will head over to Tokul East tomorrow, probably arriving around 11:30 if anyone wants to ride.

On the DWB line, are you talking about the big tombstone dirt jump (very last one) or the big gap right before that? I helped Andy, Scott, and the rest of the boys build that line last winter and even with helping shape all the jumps it took me forever to work my way down that whole line.
I think that's gotta be my favorite line there, I love how each jump sets you up for the next, but if you don't get one just right it f's you for the whole rest of the line. Its like a mandatory flow line.
R.e. the steep down, x2 on not needing too much speed. Plus that jump is pretty case-friendly so even if you come up short you're probably ok.Last edited by GordonShumway; 09-15-2010 at 11:46 PM.

I've made it over the kicker to the huge off axis ramp before the tombstone dirtjump. In the last few weeks, I've got incredibly more comfortable in the air and on the ground. Going from just clearing the jumps and drops on ryans and 2hi to doing tweaks, moto-whips on dwb and dirtcorps, and I'm starting to be able to control when I drift. In particular that first righthand on ryans and the first right on dwb.
There was a build party yesterday that I told Kim I'd go to if I had the time, but getting things ready for school is my first priority. Hopefull I'll be able to make the one in October.Rogue Weather - Providing accurate, useful, and detailed weather outlook information for the West Coast

I've been out at Tiger and Lake Sawyer/Henry's Ridge/Black Diamond quite a bit lately, and it's all pretty damn good right now. I'll probably be at Tiger midweek this week, and also out on the Black Diamond trails a couple times as well before the weekend.
My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.
