    Knee ligament devastation! All 4.

Could use some help/advice right now with a brutal knee ligament injury..

Went wakeskating a few weeks ago, which I have done for years and was under the assumption that it was a relatively safe sport. WRONG! Dislocated my knee resulting in Grade 3 tears of my ACL and MCL. Grade 2 damage to my PCL and LCL. Had two MRI's to confirm the damage. Somehow I managed to blow all 4 ligaments.

I've had many friends and family members experience ACL or MCL tears, but never all four. I don't really know what to expect with regards to treatment, physio, recovery time, etc. Anyone have experience with something similar?

Spoke to a surgeon on Wednesday who wants to wait possibly 2-3 months for the MCL, PCL, and LCL to heal naturally and stabilize the knee. At some level of stabilization he wants to do surgery to repair the ACL. Is this a pretty typical strategy for multiple ligament damage?

I've been sitting in the hospital/couch for almost 2 weeks now and feel like a piece of shit. Started doing dumbbell exercises a few days ago which has helped, but my legs are wearing away to nothing. Is there any sort of cardio/leg workouts that can be done?

    any comments would be appreciated.

Grade 2 tears LCL and PCL on the MRI aren't terrible big deals. They are nonsurgical injuries. The MCL business, even grade 3, heals in a brace. That leaves it as a simple ACL recon after the dust settles.
