Google "deck span table" and you'll find all you need about loads.

As far as materials list...really, its a deck. If you can build it surely you can put together a materials list.

Don't forget to add a generous amount of ...Imaaaaaaaginashun!!

I try to go for the heavy duty size whenever possible/affordable.

thanks for the info... deck span info is what I was needing...

My issue is the deck will be near ground level.... about 11" clearance, ground grade to top of deck. I can't do std post and beam support as there is no room. Was trying to figure out how to run my support joists / beams without running into alot of cuts and waste material.

will post epic TR on how to get blisters, drinking while handling power tools, 2nd and 3rd degree sunburn treatment, and follow up from Dr visit when I get hurt... should be a good summer.

EDIT: for future searches... www.decks.com = good info

Have fun with joist hangers and really short nails.

Or...preferably, build a patio. I have built some pretty nice decks recently and I can't wait to tear out my own and put in some pavers.

    I hate decks.

Smert people use strap guns. Or people who care about doing it fast and not paying claims. Decks are way more fun usually than doing floors with huge TJI's.
