If illegals are taking yer jobs
Then you are a loser.
Is that what this is all about? I really don't understand the reasoning behind the anti immigrant attitudes.
There are much bigger threats to your livelihood than unskilled migrant workers. Aren't there?
Maybe if you're a lazy ditch digger then no. Are you really so scared by the competition?

It's not so much the jobs, but the flooding the schools with non taxpaying kids, increases in crime, not to mention, I can't understand them!! Who knows what they are plotting behind my back.
I have personally experienced both. In the neighborhood I went to high school in, there were several apartment and low cost housing built right inside the school district lines. Some of these single family houses were filled with huge extended families of 15+ people(not to be racist, but it is very common for an immigrant family to have 5+ kids. That's just how it is. Add in the uncle and his kids, etc, and you get a very large family). Housing prices dropped (this was pre 2008) and crime has gone up. My HS, which never had any gang problems, had several gang altercations by the time I left. I worked at the mall in HS as well, and theft shot up tremendously after these apartments and low income houses were built.
The local news even did a story where they went to one house that had been raided recently, and showed how 16 people had been living in a two bedroom house!!
I have no problem with people coming here legally and paying taxes like the rest of us. (Maybe I'm just jealous? I wish I wasn't paying taxes. It drives me freaking crazy to see how much I'm giving Uncle Sam)

Illegals are taking the jobs of my kids. The teen unemployment rate is out of sight. These are the jobs that kids used to pay for college with. Summer landscaping, fast food....
That leaves the parents and/or kids to go into debt or to lower their standard of living to save.
The jobs that are available have a lower pay scale than they would without the illegals driving down the price of labor, lowering the standard of living for those that work in those jobs.

Fuckin A at least someone can sense sarcasim...I thought it was blatent enough even for the librodouches.
I have nothing against poor people, and I do not know how you got that from my post. It is not poor people in particular that I have experienced this with, it is illegal immigrants. If they have a job and are legal citizens, they do pay taxes. Therefore, they have every right to the same public education I do. My problem is we have to pay for ESL classes to teach illegal immigrants' kids that have no right to be in the school in the first place. Most the time they had someone smuggle them in, and they owe a debt to an illegal coyote, most likely cartel related. You can see how all these arise from the fact they are here ILLEGALLY and NOT that they are poor.
Also, two years ago, an illegal ran a stop sign and hit me. My insurance had to pay, since they had no insurance or drivers license. They also waited for an ambulance (which us with health insurance paid for) even though the crash was so minor that my soft drink didn't even spill.

In addition, some of the nicest, hardest working people I have ever had the pleasure to work with came here from Mexico legally. I have several good friends that are LEGAL immigrants or children of legal immigrants. I have nothing against poor people or Mexicans. Not to mention I can eat their food 3 meals a day.

Here's the deal conservative = not being allowed to have a sense of humor or sarcasm (here at least).
If anyone here didn't get this guys post they read it wrong. It happens, but at least man up and admit you're wrong after it's put in your face. Hey Pillsbury, I'm looking right at your doughy ass !!

Don't blame the illegals for being here -- blame the traitorous bastards making money off of them. If nobody built that housing for them or hired the illegals, then they wouldn't be here. It's just like the drug "problem"...we attack the supply instead of the demand and look how well that's working for us.

because, while I'm sure he's not lying about the problems he has in his area, those problems are by no means exclusively related to illegal immigrants.
I have all of the same problems in my area, including issues with uninsured drivers as was also mentioned. There are hardly any illegal immigrants around here - there's just a lot of poor people.
There's a disconnect between the problems that are being complained of and the alleged symptom. I won't argue that illegals may contribute to the problem as lots of them are poor. However, I think the root cause is poverty, not the fact that they're from Mexico; building a mile high wall around Mexico isn't going to keep people in the States from being poor.
I'm sure you can argue that lower numbers of illegals would reduce the poverty levels, but that's a whole different argument that involves way more factors than I can even pretend to properly analyze.

I have "concerns" about immigration.
I think a lot of people who rant about losing jobs, etc, are really more just worried about losing their culture and whatnot, and the immigrants not assimilating.
I think this is part insecurity, but I also think it is a bit of a valid concern.
I think there are a fair number of immigrants that just want to make money and send it home and then leave and dont care about assimilating, in fact view themselves as being at odds with our society.
Societies die without change, and America is built on peices of other cultures, but what happens if people like the ones i mentioned above can outvote the rest of our society, what then? I mean change is good and I'm all for diversity, but we need to be aware that on a very real level, our society is threatened by this.

^^^BINGO!!!!
We have illegal immigrants because they don't have the option to come here legally. There are quotas and other whatnot. They don't WANT to have to work illegal, some of the immigrant farm labor deals are pretty sweet, but it's their only choice if they don't want to starve.
No one wants to tackle the root of the problem, which is why they need to come here in order not to starve. Widespread crime, poverty, corruption, class gap, race gap, etc...
I'm betting the War on Drugs isn't helping. No longer stuck.

That would be the employers' fault, not the workers'. Hire only US Citizens and your kids have the same shot as anyone else to get a job as a fry cook... if they don't consider it "beneath them."
Exactly.
Americans in the 1800s hated the Irish. This is nothing new.

right. But of course the root problem goes back a lot longer than that: all of Latin America was systematically raped, pillaged, enslaved, denuded, tortured and otherwise made the source of the wealth of nations all around the globe . . . all nations, it seems, but Latin America. All efforts at better government on the part of countries was quickly stomped out in the name of, for example, United Fruit. Panama was invented by Teddy Roosevelt after stealing it from Columbia, to make a canal for better transfer of goods. Trade policies guaranteed to enslave Latin America have been in place for centuries.
It's a fabulous irony that lily-white people in the US of A are so terrified of the very people whose lives, blood and sweat have made them, for so long, rich.

All of the problems in the world are the white mans' fault.
If you take all the money/wealth in the world and give everyone an equal piece, in about 2 days there would be a lot of poor people and there would be some rich people.
The big fish eat the little fish.
Always has been this way and it always will be.
