TR: april 1st fool the brownie day version 2.0

Sunny and warm for NY opening day. Completely different from last year (cold and rain). Bring the stoke!

    The hen.

    The buck.

    The jaw.

So glad that trout is back since the snow is gone.

Well done. You seem to have a knack for larger than average eastern browns.

    Just tell me when.
It's not always on but oh when it is.....

crazy thing is last year it was shity, cold and raining with high water and I landed two in the 18-22" range and broke off on another. Thursday I landed three and broke off on a big orange belly that was rolling all over in fast water. It's always the one that breaks me off that keeps me going back like crack.

trout open up here next week. Prolly hitting pike in the shallows mid-week. No closed season on pike. They should be hungry with this spike in the temps. Plus I'll be able to try out my new 8/9 wt.

    Beautiful browns L8APX,
...Around Ontario tribs..y/n? (I forgot), or was it N/S of Albany(Tri-City) area? Grew up NE of Troy...ages ago. Some nice streams for browns north, south(Catskills), and east(Poestenkill, Battenkill, Mettawee(sp?)), tribs to Champlain. Damn Homers up here in Maine that have kept control of Inland Fisheries...that just don't understand what level of fishing Maine could_have/could've_had with browns.
...And those hatches of decades past....

No great lake fish here, much closer to Albany.
Hope this trend continues for the season. Last year I went 7 weeks without a fish over 12" , water was high.
