Republican establishment pols BECOMING Tea Baggers... Dangerous for them or not?
OK, I've been bashing the Republicans for riling up and cheering on the Tea Baggers... And yes, calling out the stupid actions of some of those who proudly claim to be Tea Baggers... but this just seemed like a step further to me?
Does it make sense? It can't be their only option at this point? Have they "poll tested" and "gamed" this out behind the scenes? Is this their winning strategy ala the "Contract with America"? Or is this just someone like Palin playing it from the cuff, foot loose and fancy free? Being all "Decider" like?
I'd argue it's just too risky to hitch your wagon that securely to this "movement"... one highly publicized killing or other big misdeed by a fellow "Tea Bagger" could really rain on that parade, no? Though I suppose it could be like the old "But [he/she] wasn't REALLY a true 'Conservative'" dealio... just deny that anyone who does the stupidity is really a true part of the Tea Bag movement???
Palin upstages McCain at his own rally
By Muriel Kane
Friday, March 26th, 2010 -- 7:10 pm
John McCain's former running mate joined him on Friday at an Arizona rally intended to rally the Republican base behind McCain, who is facing a tough primary battle against a challenge from the right by former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.
It was Sarah Palin's first appearance with McCain since their 2008 electoral defeat, and in today's Republican party the one-time Alaskan governor clearly outshines the veteran senator.
Dressed in a form-fitting black leather jacket, Palin was greeted by massive applause and chants of "Sarah, Sarah" as the two came onstage together. Several news stories noted that there seemed to be far less enthusiasm for McCain, and one poster in a thread live-blogging the event at Democratic Underground pointed out that MSNBC had cut away from the event promptly at 4 pm, while McCain was still speaking.
Palin used the occasion to slam the media for suggesting that members of the Tea Party movement might resort to violence in their outrage over the passage of health care reform.
"We might as well call it like we see it," she stated. "In respect to the Tea Party movement, the beautiful movement, everyone here today, we are all part of that movement. ... Everyone here supporting John McCain, we are all the Tea Party movement."
McCain did his best to emulate Palin's Tea Party rhetoric, saying of the opposition to health care legislation, "There's something going on, and it's a revolution. ... We're going to take it on in the Senate. We're going to take it on in the streets."
McCain has already threatened that Democrats should expect "no cooperation for the rest of the year" from Senate Republicans. It has yet to be seen, however, in what manner he expects to take his revolution to the streets.pmiP triD remroF

FTW.....
And my tentative answer...because he can't keep up, and he knows it...if he was really up for the task of taking his game to a real political site, he wouldn't post here ever again...alas, I fear he is too weak for the real politikin' sites and will live a life of subservience, spewing his political bullshit in pollyasshat rather than taking his game to the show...

While I can't answer for DBT - I know the reason I come here instead of some serious political site is because those places don't let you twist panties anywhere near the twistitude that I can twist here. Plus, this place has a pretty good mix of truely braindead morons and those who are just smart enough to be really proud of how smart they are. And there is no greater weakness to exploit in a douchebag than pride.

There are 2 ways I could take your little challenge. The first way is to tell you to go fuck yourself you super rad core douchebag. That's the one I would normally go with but for some reason I'm actually going to address some of your concerns. If I don't answer them to your satisfaction, you should talk to TGR about banning me for not being core enough for your site, as you are the typical elitist liberal free speech supressing douche.
1. I don't ski with a camera. I do not own a picture of myself or anyone else skiing.
2. Nothing in the Twin Cities of MN is very stokeworthy. I have ZERO reason or motivation to do a photo shoot here. BTW, "Peer pressure" from you ain't a reason.
3. When someone is stuck in MN they appreciate other peoples ski stoke more than you do so you really can't say I'm not here for the stoke.
4. There is something about the maggots mindset that makes politics far more interesting and funny than a regular political site. Probably all the pot?
And what Jer said.....

fair enough.
i never claimed to be core. i personally love the ski stoke and try to post some when i can.
chill out on the labeling/name calling. we don't know each other. let's have an actual conversation.
otherwise its just "fuck you DBT, you are stupid" and "mtskier is douche." that doesn't get either of us anywhere.
FWIW, jer and DBT, its not fun, core, cool, or smart to constantly try to stir the pot and mess with our "simple minds."
try posting something thoughtful and you will get a genuine response and have an actual converstation.Cheap gear for Mags at Backcountry Freeskier

Well, have you noticed what happens to the "thougtfull" conservative posts on TRG? Rubicon brings the $$$$ every time. Well thought out and always logical and professional. It ends up being one of 2 things. Mind numbingly boring like a regular political web site, or, a debate about semantics and who has better reading comprehension, which then devolves into each side wanting the other to eat a bag of dicks.
This place wants me on that wall. They NEED me on that wall. (Jer too)

See - this is why I'm un-pwnable - I don't care. It's fun for me. I could care less about core and cool. As for smart - you do know I'm posting from a MENSA gathering, don't you?
If you've been here for more than a few weeks you know that's not true.
