Best wax for rain?
My kid made states and its going to rain this weekend. I have basic warm and cold temp wax but what should I get at my local ski shop for rain?
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Swix HF10 with graphite....very slick in wet conditions. Mix it with CH10 or similar warm wax. You can get it in a little package so it doesn't break your wallet. Wax wears off quickly in wet conditions though.

dish soap. For serious, just wipe it on.
(but it'll only last a few runs and dry out your bases)

I would concur with the open structure comment, its crucial to break the suction when there is water under foot.

My biggest goal in life has always been to pursue passion and to make dreams a reality. I love my daughter, but if I had to quit my passions for her, then I would be setting the wrong example for her, and I would not be myself anymore. -Shane

turtle wax paste wax or similar....and then a light wipe down with dish soap in the start
this only works if there is water in the snow so depending on your kids start position and or conditions you may want to forego the dish soapwhat's orange and looks good on hippies?

I've had good luck with warm HF wax for rain. I might consider one with silicone, too. I'd also assume that a pure fluoro overlay would be good.

how about rainex?
I have a set on 2nd gen verdicts with a very coarse base grind and I notice the closer to freezing the temp gets the faster the ski runs

Rain X works well as does lighter fluid for a zippo, both good for 1 run.

Swix CH10 0-10 degree celcius works pretty well and is available at many shops. Might mix in some pricier molybdenum additives for some extra zing.

I've liked One Ball Jay Summer Slush in warm conditions. And as noted, structure to the bases.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

Swix had a Silicone based wax that was good but I believe discontinued now. Toko (Nano HF Warm) and Holmenkol also both have some warm or Silicon based wet conditions waxes. Also Hertel has a Spring Solution warm wax that would be good too especially on dirty pollen laden snow. These are more traditional and could be ironed in instead of the car wax or pam, etc.

I asked my wife to pick up some yellow wax on her way to work. She called and said they sold her a small bar of yellow and a small bar of black and she was not happy paying $120. I guess I should have gone myself. Thanks all.
