    ski help

I am 15, live in CO and ski mostly summit county and vail.
5'11" 180 lbs, i've been skiing since 2, raced, and now race skiercross
I am looking for a pow/touring ski, about 110 under foot. I'd like some ability to ski hard snow well. I am going to mount them with fritschi freerides
I like to go fast, and want a ski that will do well and speed, and is still poppy.
Skis on my list so far:
    Armada JJ
    Atomic Blog
    ON3P Wrenegade
    ON3P Billygoat

i'm looking for reviews of the skis above or new suggestions
    Thanks

Rossi S3, Rossi S6, Volkl Goatama or Katana, Blizzard Argos (next years)...

S6 is SICK, and if you wait till next year you'll get early riser in the tip.

I think someone should start one and make it sticky, so every jong could find it easier.

You have a TON of options, but just a quick response about the two above.

Wren is the ski you are looking for. More stability at speed, more comfortable in large turns but also maneuverable for all the trees you will be skiing searching out pow in CO, better on hardpack. As an ex-racer/skicross guy, it will be much more suited to your turning style. It isn't as playful or floaty, but CO has light snow so it won't be as much of an issue. Plus when skiing in CO having a good crud ski is important, and the wren destroys crud.

Sizing wise, you could go either way. They both rip and you are right at that inbetween where you could use both and be happy. More stability at speed and float = 191cm, more maneuverability and lighter weight for touring = 181cm.

Hope that helps a bit. OH and...[ame="http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104129"]JONG[/ame]!

i've given up on not getting flammed here, but i thought i'd get better input for here rather than NS.
Is the wren still a little poppy and playful? sounds like it does well in the crud, but i don't want something that feels dead under my feet.

Bamboo + carbon = lots of pop. Bamboo is weird because it creates a pretty damp, stable ride but there is still a lot of responsiveness. I enjoy it more than anything I've ever ridden...but I am biased so don't take my word for it. Check out some of the review in that thread I linked to you. Should help give you a better idea about how they ski.

You are getting flamed because you didn't try searching at all. The link iggy gave you has several reviews on the skis you listed and its stickied at the top of tech talk. No big deal though man just search next time before you make a new thread.

The 185 JJ's are great for me but Im quite a bit smaller than you at 5' 9" 150. They are awesome in the pow. Plane up quickly and are just really floaty for me. The poppiness you are talking about is definitely there in the JJ's. I am not sure though if you might be looking for more ski than that though. You are pretty big and at 15 you are probably going to keep growing for a bit do a longer ski might suit you better in the future. Especially because I think they measure more like 183.
Anyways I have to get to class but I'd be happy to answer some more questions about them for you later if still need me to after you check out the reviews in that thread. There are lots of them.
    Memento mori.
