Mounting Question-Lhasa Pows, Dynadukes and Two Very Different BSL Boots
I am about to mount up some 186's with the dynaduke plates. I am going to be swapping between dukes and Dynafits. When I run the dukes, I will most likely be skiing my Lange WC 120's with a BSL of 360 and the Dynafits will be used with my Spirit 4's which have a BSL of 339. I will be using the WC's for inbounds and the Spirit 4's mainly for BC, but sometimes inbounds. I am about 6'3" and about 210-215, depending on how much I have been drinking that day. I tend to be a more wide open, higher speed type of skier.
Now that you have the background, here is the question. Do i split the mount down the so roughly offset the mount +1 cm to split the difference giving the WC's a -1cm and the Spirit 4's a +1cm mounting point, do i mount to have the WC's on the line or do I mount to have the Spirit 4's on the line? What is considered to be optimal given this situation? Any help is greatly appreciated. Our world is full of surrender at the first sign of adversity, do not give up when the challenge meets you, meet the challenge. what, the collective doesn't have an opinion on mounting points?

My .02$: I'm mounted at +1 w/ Dukes and Dobies and wouldn't want to go any more forward than that. It skis fine there so think that would totally work, I just wouldn't want to be any more forward so yeah, maybe split the difference? You are mo-bigger than I am though so you might like them back farther.

You're kind of in a difficult position, because your alpine boots have a much longer bsl than your AT boots, meaning that whatever mounting position you choose, your alpine position is going to be further back than your AT position. I have the reverse issue, but the difference is only less than 1 cm so I didn't sweat it too much as the difference in boot centre is only less than half a cm. With you, depending on where you mount you could be out by 1cm which might make more of a difference on some skis than others. I don't know how sensitive the Lhasas are to mount position. Perhaps a PM to Splat or Marshalolson for their advice would be in order. Splat builds them, and Marshalolson has skied them quite a bit and mounts them professionally.
Ideally, you would want them to be in the same place, but if different, I would think, you would want the AT position to be the one back a bit and the Alpine forward if anything, but you don't have that choice. Perhaps given this case, this is not the ski for the Dynadukes, if you have to make a compromise like this on such a great custom ski.
I am surprised that you have such a difference between your boot sole lengths. I am in Lange Freeride 120's, similar to your World Cup, at 326 bsl and my size in a Spirit 4 would give me 322 bsl, not a big difference. Are your sure that you are sized correctly for each boot? Normally, a tongue style AT boot will come in roughly 1cm shorter than an overlap Alpine boot of the same size. The new overlap AT boots will have similar bsl to the same size Alpine boot. In my case, I went with a smaller shell size for performance in my Langes, and the bsl is the same as my tongue style Endorphins and shorter than my Radiums which ride about a half cm back of the line on my skis set up for AT.
You might want to consider mounting these skis for the Spriti 4's if you are going to be doing a lot of BC with them, and just ride them with the Stiffer tongues in bounds or have a look at some of the Alpine overlap boots like the Dynafit Titan or Garmont Radium, which tour well and ski similar to an Alpine boot. They will also have a longer bsl than the Spirits being an overlap style boot and be closer to your Lange in performance and bsl so the mounting issue won't be as much of a concern.

The spirit 4's were the only Stiff at boot with dynafit compatibility (at the time) which i was able to even remotely fit. I am punching them out to get rid of the race fit they have now-toes curled under. The Langes fit well length wise, not width-massive 6th toe punches.
I am thinking about splitting the difference at this point, which, in theory should give me a 1 cm +/- of the line for AT and Alpine respectively. I bought the lhasa's as more of a touring ski, however, given that right now i need more of an all around ski for helping at the area, it would be great if i wouldn't have to give up too much in performance while maintaining the versatility afforded by the skis. Our world is full of surrender at the first sign of adversity, do not give up when the challenge meets you, meet the challenge. Having just had my first day on 191 Lhasas I would say skip the dynadukes and just mount them with the Dynafits. I am about your size (6'4"200) and really didn't like the lhasas inbounds that much so far. Much better so far in wild snow than anything heavier, tracked, etc.
Then you will be adding almost a 3/4 lb to a nice light pair of touring skis which you may not want to ride at the resort. Buy a cheap pair of XXL or whatever your flavor is for inbounds.
As far as mount point, the tail is pretty narrow (mine measures at 121 NOT 124), I am at +3mm or so and I wish it was more like +1cm. They wash out pretty easily with the big tip. I certainly wouldn't want to be behind the line for whichever you plan to ride the most.

I would split the difference - it'll only be +.5 for touring and -.5 for your alpines. I like my 196 for both touring and inbounds, so I disagree with nate s. I'm not a mount line nazi so I have no idea how big a deal +/- .5 is but it doesn't seem like much.
