yep. emerson student. someone threw a bottle at some cops twenty feet away, and they responded with pepper balls shot with compressed air guns. she got it in the eye. very sad.
the mayor is trying to get bars around fenway to not serve drinks during the game. he doesn't seem to realize that most of the 80,000 people who gathered around the park after the game were comming ut of student housing and dorms in the area, a lot of them were prolly under 21.

i was disgusted when i heard that. fucking boston pd. not that i don't welcome their presence in my adopted neighborhood, but there were only like 8 arrests TOTAL from that landsdowne scene, and they felt the need to use "less-lethal" force? despicable.

i just don't understand what gets into people after their team wins.
throwing bottles at cops?
I don't care how excited you are....where is the little voice in your head that knows the difference between right and wrong? OK, they were drinking heavily. So what.
i remember watching on TV when the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup and they had people climbing on telephone wires and setting fires.
fucking pathetic losers. schilling is right...no victory is worth this.
edit: although i agree with bill....a little excessive on the cops partLet me lock in the system at Warp 2
Push it on into systematic overdrive
You know what to do

is it just me, or dosent it seem that the people causing injury and death are the police?? Is saving a little bit of property from getting destroyed by crazy fans worth killing someone and hurting 20 others? In cops eyes obviously yes.

that's the thing--all kinds of shit like that happens on a weekendly basis around here, as i'm sure it does in all places where alcohol is served to concentrated populations of people who have very few responsibilities.

hmm
2 tickets prolly $300-500 face value minimum?
how long do you get to 'have' her?
like all night?
could you just 'have your way with her?
hidden cameras might help recoup some of the money. just a thoughtPoints on their own sitting way up high

I can understand about the destroying property after your team wins. Unknown why, after the Red Sox won I took a baseball bat and smashed my TV. Then threw all plates and glass to ground. After that I looted my kids room and took all his stuffed animals.

10-22-2004, 03:58 PM #20Coming from the perspective of a riot friendly city here in Minneapolis (back-to-back riots after hockey championships, last year riots in Madison on halloween, and in Mankato after Minnesota State homecoming), calling the police's role as "saving a little bit of property from getting destroyed" is insulting. Property is the last thing on the police's list of protecting. That's evident by the amount of property damaged during riots. What police are concerned with is keeping a general state of moral responsibility - even if it's fear based - evident within a rioting crowd. What they want to minimalize are the mob fights and random violence that is easily provoked during a riot. Most importantly, they're there to protect women from the danger of sexual assault that is extremely hightened during a riot.

Whats even worse was the picture in the Globe of her lying on the ground dead. A bit unneccesary I thought.
Where are you guys watching the games this weekend?

See what happens when the savage hordes from the north are allowed their spoils. Only the civilized New Yorkers should win championships, after which they sip champagne and all holler "HUZZAH!"
