Who's Nomar? (NSR)
This conversation took place outside my office two minutes ago between a man and a woman. Too funny not to share...
Woman: "Do you know what number Nomar was when he played for Boston?"
Man: "Who's Nomar?"
Woman: "He played for the Sox and was traded this summer."
Man: "I really don't know. I don't follow it at all. So, what happens now? Do
they go to the Rose Bowl or have playoffs or something?"
Woman: "Yeah, they're going to the World Series and they'll have a few games
here."
Man: "Oh, that's too bad. Traffic is going to be terrible. "

Never heard of the guy.
On a semi-related note, reading the board this morning I see I made some loopy posts last night. What's up with that?

it is hard to believe, usually around here you would get crucified for calling the manager 'coach'.
but in certain acedemic areas of cambridge there are lots of poeple so out of touch with popular reality (e.g. M.I.T.) that i guess i can imagine a conversation like that.

My mother-in-law last night, when I turned on the game: "Is Ichiro playing?"

lady here at work comes up to me this morning, right up to my face, asks if i saw the game. keep in mind my eyes are bleeding from a late, raucous night, AND i've got my damn "reyn spooner" sox shirt on.
me: "what game?"

Me: Did you catch the game last night?
Guy at work: What game?
Me: Nevermind.
There is an alarming number of cats at my job who have no idea about anything sorts related. I Admit I'm a huge sports fan in general. I Might even be obsesed. But, they don't know what's happening at alll.its the whisky talking
