FS: Spot Longboard 29er SS
Not sure if there is interest for this bike here, but I'll knock $50 off my local asking price. Trying to thin the bike quiver a bit.
Large Spot Brand Longboard 29er Single Speed - $1600
This is an early version of the model, hand made in Golden, CO, equipped with a chain drive rather than a belt (I was afraid of the belt system). The frame is keyed for a belt drive if you want to go that way. Ridden all of 250 miles over a season and a half.
The build is listed below. This size large steel bike weighs 23 pounds – not too shabby.
Manitou Minute 80mm fork
Chris King headset
Easton Monkeylite XC carbon bars
Thomson Elite X4 100mm stem
Thomson Elite layback seat post
Hayes Stroker hydraulic brakes
Truvativ Stylo cranks
WTB Rocket V Titanium rail saddle
White Industries 21t rear cog / freewheel
White Industries hubs
Salsa Delgado rims
Bolt-on rear hub, QR front
Nearly new WTB Exiwolf rear and WTB Motoraptor on the front. I have a WTB Weirwolf 2.55 LT that I will include as well.
I wasn’t planning to include pedals, but if you need some, I have some Time ATACs.
I also have a few other freewheels if you need a different ratio (16t, 18t).
Photos below. PM if interested.

I have the foreign-made-frame version of this bike, with the belt. It's stupid-fun, and after I bought it I hardly ever rode my Yeti 575. Spot got the 29-er geometry spot-on with this frame. It's stable but quick, and supremely comfortable on 6 hour rides. Damn, now I want to go riding!
No relation to the seller, and no interest in the sale--just another happy Spot owner. The company can be a bitch to work with, but this bike is great.ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.

23 lbs is pretty light for a steel 29'er single. Somebody should snatch this up.
My aluminum Ventana 29'er single is weighing in at 23.5 on a fairly pimpy build (I9 wheels, ENO cranks, etc).Waste your time, read my crap, at:

Can this be set up with standard dropouts in the rear? I run a bit too varied terrain for me to run SS, but I do like a 1x9. Of course, not really in the market, but I am curious. Great looking bike.

That's the last bike I'll own for a long time. I got rid of all of my other bikes.

Don't sell this bike to Empty_Beer. Because if you do, then he'll actually have a reliable bike that works and then he'll be an even greater threat than he already is in our local races.
On second thought, if you do sell this to Empty_Beer....slack out at the chain a little so it drops under heavy torque so I don't lose my mechanical advantage over him

The only way to ensure I don't sell it to him is to buy it yourself, yes?

Empty Beer + Spot Longboard = TROUBLE. Do it EB.
Heck, if it wasn't a large, I would be trying to justify this.

Looks like EB is out for now. Bump.

I have a Spot Longboard. I've been commuting on it all winter here in Edmonton, Canada, in some pretty rough conditions.
This is a great bike, once you get it dialed in. It's so much fun to ride, I actually look forward to going to work every morning. If I didn't already have one (and if it was an XL), I'd buy this in a heartbeat!

I don't suppose you'd be interested in selling the frame by itself?
If so let me know how much.......definitely interested if so.
Thanks
