    Tear in Gore membrane

My pants are starting to form tears inside the pant, where the seams meet the pant fabric in the crotch. They run along the seam, and are starting to get fairly large(4-5"). Starting to notice a good bit of leakage from the outside, giving me the pleasant feeling of pissed cold pants while I ski. I'd like to fix it before the next wet day. The pants are a gore shell with a liner similar to a swimtrunk's so access to the back of the fabric is limited but not out of the question

Any suggestions? Dryer sheet and flexible water repellent glue?

They are 2 season old TNF pants.

I have had good luck with iron on Gore-Tex patches I purchased from MEC in the past. After I iron on the patch I seal arond the edges with waterproof adhesive. The patches themselves are made of Gore-Tex and can be ironed on the inside or outside of the pant.

I am constantly getting little tears along the bottom of the leg of my pants from my inside ski edges and the patches seem to hold up quite well. FYI The pant I have is the Arcteryx Sting-Ray if I remember correctly.

I think hitmanbob is talking about delam failure of PTFE membrane on 2-ply GoreTex. Iron-on patches won't help that.

I think this is what's happening. the plastic inside appears to have ripped and is peeling off of the nylon outershell

If it's a delam, ask the W.L. Gore warranty department, because it may well be covered and you get new pants.

I use dryer sheet & aqua seal all the time for this app ,right now I got 2 pair of arcteryx pants I am doing for buds with miscellaneous holes/ tears /rips/ cuts

if you can't get warranty this method works ,tape the hole in the garment on the outside with masking tape and patch from the inside with a thin layer of AQ

If the pants have a lifetime warranty, I'd use it for sure. Tape the hole if you need the pants for the weekend, but situations like this are why there is a (lifetime) warranty exists.
